Children Given Rabies Shots After Mother Allowed Them to Touch Rabid Bat at School

 

A school has come under fire after a mother of two of its students let some 90 elementary school children touch a dead bat. The bat was later discovered to have rabies, and the children are all being treated for the disease.

The children's vaccinations -- a series of six shots each -- could cost more than US$150,000. The school said it would use its liability insurance to pay nearly half the cost. The school now has a new visitor pass policy after the incident. source>>>
