Erica Jong Tells Italians Obama Loss 'Will Spark the Second American Civil War. Blood Will Run

Erica Jong Tells Italians Obama Loss 'Will Spark the Second American Civil War. Blood Will Run in the Streets'

Erica Jong, 1976.It seems that the final days of the presidential campaign have made Erica Jong and her friends more than a little anxious.

A few days ago, Jong, the author and self-described feminist, gave an interview to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, the choicest bits of which were brought to my attention by the reliably sharp-eyed Christian Rocca, the U.S. correspondent of Il Foglio, who published excerpts on his Camillo blog. Basically, Jong says her fear that Obama might lose the election has developed into an "obsession. A paralyzing terror. An anxious fever that keeps you awake at night." She also says that her friends Jane Fonda and Naomi Wolf are extremely worried that Obama will be sabotaged by Republican dirty tricks, and that if an Obama loss indeed comes to pass, the result will be a second American Civil War.

Here's a translation of Jong's more spirited quotes to the Milan-based Corriere, as selected by Rocca.

"The record shows that voting machines in America are rigged."

"My friends Ken Follett and Susan Cheever are extremely worried. Naomi Wolf calls me every day. Yesterday, Jane Fonda sent me an email to tell me that she cried all night and can't cure her ailing back for all the stress that has reduces her to a bundle of nerves."

"My back is also suffering from spasms, so much so that I had to see an acupuncturist and get prescriptions for Valium."

"After having stolen the last two elections, the Republican Mafia..."

"If Obama loses it will spark the second American Civil War. Blood will run in the streets, believe me. And it's not a coincidence that President Bush recalled soldiers from Iraq for Dick Cheney to lead against American citizens in the streets."

"Bush has transformed America into a police state, from torture to the imprisonment of reporters, to the Patriot Act."

She also laments that not all of America's men of letters share her devotion to Obama.

"Tom Wolfe and John Updike are men of the right and Philip Roth is at this point a hermit who leads a monastic life in Connecticut, far from everything and everybody."

Luckily, she said there is her and Michael Chabon, who, she says, have "taken the place of Susan Sontag and Norman Mailer respectively."

They have the same political sensibilities, she said, but a better "sense of humor."

Our First French President,,Barack Obama

If he's elected next week, Barack Obama won't be our first black president: Toni Morrison labeled Bill Clinton our "first black president" in October 1998. (We have seen no reports that she retracted that label as a result of the South Carolina primary campaign).

And never mind all the nonsense floating around the internet. Barack Obama wasn't born in Indonesia, or Kenya or wherever. He was born in Hawaii.

Race isn't an issue for conservatives, but cultural indentity is. And that's a problem because if he's elected, Barack Obama will be our first French president.

The man who would lead the most productive, hard-working, achievement-oriented society in history told on his campaign website to take the day off to vote at our ease and make sure all our relatives and friends do the same. He tells students to ask their professors to let them out of class to canvass neighborhoods and drive people to the polls.

Take the day off to vote? Us? We're the American workaholics: we thrive in the can't-wait-to-dial-push-to-talk society. People in Washington get carpal tunnel syndrome from thumbing their Blackberrys. Stakhanovites all, we dedicate ourselves to our work, identify ourselves by our jobs, and compete with everyone within range. That's how we succeed.

In America's heartland, many families have a mom and a dad who each work two jobs to put the kids through college. Lots of people work Saturdays or Sundays or both. We take Christmas and Thanksgiving and July 4th off and -- if we're lucky -- we save up to take a week's trip somewhere in driving distance.

And this guy wants to stop the world just to make sure he gets elected?

Just think about this: if every American voter took the day off on Tuesday, it would cost our economy a big chunk of cash. How much?

In 2004, there were about 123 million voters. The best estimate says there are about 181 million registered voters today. One economist did a computation for me, using that probable voter base. If they all work for the average wage and all take an unpaid day off, the cost would be about $22.3 billion in lost wages for the first Obamaday.

How much would the stock market fall just because the earth stood so that we could elect Obama?

In France, they care little about such things. That's why they have -- by law -- a 35-hour workweek that's interrupted by strikes and five-week vacations.

Last summer, the French made a half-hearted attempt to repeal the 35-hour work week, but only managed to succeed in reducing the minimum number of vacation days. Unless a President Obama wants to limit our workweek, we'll stay ahead of France in economic power.

All over America, we go to work, we go to school and some time during the day -- before we go to work or after we get home, on a long break from school or when classes are over that day -- we manage to vote. We accomplish our duties, meet our responsibilities, and manage to perform our patriotic duty to vote all on the same day.

Much of this happens in the suburbs and this is the candidate who's not interested in how that works. Remember? He said, "I'm not interested in the suburbs. The suburbs bore me." Of course they do: that's where all those gun-and-bible-clinging people live.

This election is the most important in living memory, and the Democrats' candidate is proving that -- underneath the trim American exterior -- a Frenchman lurks.

We have, as others have noted, been learning more about Obama in the past two weeks than we have in the past two years. As a hyperliberal politician, Obama has been doing his best to conceal his liberalism and the press has been all too eager to leave the "progressive" cloak in place. But we are, in the last weeks of the campaign, getting a better view.

It started with Joe the Plumber asking a better question than all the reporters and debate moderators who preceded him. And the answer Mr. Wurzelberger got -- that Obama wants to spread the wealth around -- revealed Obama's cultural commonality with European socialists.

"I think when you spread the wealth around it's good for everybody." Spread the wealth like Robin Hood? No, like robbing you. And if you read the Obama economic plans -- including about $800 billion more in spending on health care, college subsidies and climate controls -- his methods for spreading the wealth are the same ones the European redistributionists use.

Virginia Military Absentee Ballots Must be Counted

Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell has issued a formal opinion concluding that federal absentee ballots from overseas military voters lacking the printed name and address of a witness must be counted.

In the formal opinion the Attorney General finds, "It is.... my opinion that the applicable provision of Virginia law, § 24.2-702.1(B), interpreted to require an overseas military voter submitting only a Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot to include the printed name and address of the person who signs the witness statement is preempted by the provisions of the (federal) Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act. Finally, it is my opinion that general registrars may not reject a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot submitted by overseas military voters for the November 4, 2008 federal election that does not include a printed name and address for the person who signs the witness statement..."

This directive was delivered to all of Virginia's State Boards of Elections on Monday.

The controversy began last week when Fairfax County voter registrar Rokey Suleman set aside hundreds of military ballots for rejection based on his conclusion that the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot, or FWAB, should have a witness address accompanying the signature. The state of Virginia did not instruct Virginia soldiers to provide this witness address nor does the federal form provide space for it.

Concerns over partisanship were raised as Suleman founded a Young Democrat group in Ohio and unsuccessfully ran for office as a Democrat earlier this year. His insistence on rejecting military ballots on a hyper-technicality -- ballots that trend Republican -- coupled with his voter drive in the county jails this year -- votes that trend toward Democrats -- Suleman recently raised the ire of this Northern Virginia community with his blatant rejection of hundreds of military ballots.

Sam Wright, retired Naval Jag officer and director of the National Defense Committee's efforts to protect our military's votes, got involved in this effort and was very grateful for the decision. "Thank you, Attorney General McDonnell, for going to bat for the brave young men and women who are away from home and willing to lay down their lives for our rights including our right to vote," Wright said.

Our children are dying, help us

Over 70 000 people, including 30 000 children, have been left homeless in quake-hit southwest Pakistan, Unicef said on Friday, as health workers warned that deadly diseases were spreading.

The UN children's agency said they and Pakistani government officials assessed the situation in the worst-hit districts of mountainous Baluchistan province and were "concerned about the urgent needs of children and women".

Up to 300 people are thought to have been killed in the 6.4-magnitude quake, which struck before dawn on Wednesday, flattening mud-brick houses and killing or injuring people as they slept.

"With winter closing in, the most urgent needs of the survivors are shelter, safe drinking water, food, warm clothing and emergency medical assistance," the world body said in a statement.

Clean water was a "priority" and Unicef teams had started providing water and sanitation services, and food supplements for pregnant women and young children, it said.

"Children are especially vulnerable to diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera," it added.

"Most of the water sources in the affected districts have been damaged by the earthquake. Approximately 12 000 people in Ziarat lack safe water and are dependent on supplies from water trucks."

The district health officer of the stricken hill town of Ziarat, Ayub Kakar, told AFP that children were already suffering after two nights in the open in sub-zero temperatures.

"Due to the cold hundreds of children are being treated for pneumonia, abdominal diseases, diarrhoea and chest problems," he said.

"We fear the death toll will rise. Such diseases, if not treated in time, are life-threatening," Kakar said.

Relief kits

Tents, blankets, clothes, medicine and antibiotics were still in short supply, he said. Many people in outlying villages have expressed concern that they have gone without help more than two days after the disaster.

"Our children are dying, help us," cried Mohammad Khan, in the village of Khanozai high in the mountains.

Kakar said children formed the majority of the population in the quake-affected area and many of them were psychologically affected by the tremors, and violent aftershocks that continue to pound the region.

Women were also not getting medical treatment because of deeply conservative traditions and the fact that hospitals were also hit.

Pakistan's military says it had provided tents, blankets and food to 25 000 affected people in the devastated villages of Wam, Tungi and Gogi, with another 15 000 set to get relief goods later on Friday.

"Nobody will be without tents, blankets and food rations today," Major Khan Mohammed of the paramilitary Frontier Corps told AFP.

Colonel Shahzada Khan said the International Committee of the Red Cross - one of a number of international NGOs in the relief effort, including the World Food Programme and World Health Organisation - had sent 5 000 relief kits.

Each kit consists of one tent and 15 days' rations for a family of five.

"An aerial survey is still being conducted by helicopters in far-flung areas to locate the affected people," said Shahzada, also from the Corps. source>>>

Photo of hot items on eBay leads police to stolen goods

The seller indicated he lived in Dallas, but the background of a photo of the goods he was offering on eBay looked suspiciously familiar to a Detroit lawman.

Sgt. Jeffrey Wenturine's familiarity with the Motor City led to a raid in which the man was arrested and surveying equipment valued at $25,000 was recovered from his home.

Sgt. Jeffrey Wenturine was browsing the eBay online auction site as part of his investigation of the theft. Sgt. Eren Stephens Bell says he spotted the equipment in a photo with a unique white picket fence in the background.

The Detroit Free Press says Wenturine cruised East Outer Drive until he located the fence, setting the stage for the Thursday afternoon raid. Police also seized about eight guns. source>>>

Teacher of the year charged with selling school textbooks on eBay

-- An Irrigon teacher and former educator of the year was indicted on theft and 43 counts of official misconduct Monday after having allegedly stolen $1,000 in textbooks and selling them on eBay.

In September, the Morrow County School District placed Forrest Dean McKinnis, 31, on administrative leave after reportedly discovering that textbooks stored in a closet were being sold on the Web site.

Morrow County Sheriff's Office arrested McKinnis later that month. He was released on his own recognizance.

According to the indictment McKinnis "unlawfully and knowingly commit(ted) theft ... The State further alleges that the property stolen had a value of $1,000 or more." The indictment states McKinnis, sold the books between July 27 and Sept. 15, which was an "unauthorized exercise of his official duties."

The 43 counts of official misconduct are for the books that McKinnis allegedly sold.

Mark Burrows, the superintendent of the Morrow County School District, said he could not comment on McKinnis' employment status.

McKinnis was a program director at Morrow Education Center, coached boys' basketball at Heppner High School for five years and was scheduled to coach the Riverside High School girls' basketball team. source>>>

Christian Voters Need to Reorient, not Disengage

In the spirit of honest and civil dialogue, I would like to both affirm and respectfully disagree with a few points made by Shane Claiborne in his piece, "Voting as Damage Control." As I read his post, I cannot help but ponder its incongruity with an action alert I just received from Color of Change.org. Color of Change.org, an organization dedicated to strengthening Black America's political voice, urges its constituents to not be deterred by those who would suppress their votes because of their racial/ethnic identities or socio-economic status. While we discuss the moral implications of casting a ballot, many of the marginalized in our society fear being turned away from their local polling places on Nov. 4.

I agree, as Shane suggests, "...white folks in this election might be asking people of color who have suffered so much historically whether we should vote or who we should vote for." Let's just hope that our friends receive the same treatment that we have been advantaged to expect. I agree that the debate about voting and Christian political engagement is a necessary one. However, please understand it is a debate most often between privileged parties.

I am most concerned though by what Shane's post implies -- if voting is barely tolerable as "damage control," what should we make of prophetic advocacy? As someone who lives in an intentional community in a "forgotten place of the Empire," I see the New Monastic movement as spirit-led movement, a gift to the church and witness to a broken world. However, the strength of this movement is not so much a prophetic call to do justice as it is a prophetic warning about the idolatry of our national and political identities. This was an extremely important vocation of the biblical prophets. The prophet Isaiah's call to be a "house of prayer for all nations" was not so much an affront to Israel's religious sensibilities as a challenge to their nationalist identity (Isaiah 56:7).

The call to do justice must begin with the conviction that our allegiances have been stolen and we must return to the priorities of God and recognize God's absolute sovereignty. We must not -- no never -- subvert or ignore this prophetic vocation. Shane reminds us that idolatry is a corporate act and not only a personal sin. I am deeply appreciative of Shane and the New Monastics for pointing our way back to Jesus, our president, our Lord. However, the call to liberate ourselves from the powers of this world is the foundation for a discipleship that re-engages these systems as prophetic agents of God's kingdom. We are equipped to do justice and named "ambassadors" of the Good News. Ambassadors are sent to people with a foreign agenda, to engage at the highest levels of power.

Politics divides families, friends

John Kusic is a die-hard Democrat who talks politics nonstop, even at the office where Republicans and Democrats are always willing to fight it out. Recently, however, he and his wife attended a dinner party with limitations.

"The husband and wife were staunch Republicans, and they had a rule that they didn't want to talk politics," he said. "My wife looked at me and said, 'Don't you dare try to weasel into' " a political discussion.

Aside from the random dig, people stuck to the rule.

"No one wanted to offend the host and hostess," he said.

This refusal to talk politics -- or the inability to stop arguing about it -- illustrates the increasing polarization of the American electorate. The campaigns of Barack Obama

and John McCain are streaming rhetoric with just four days to go before the election. And the deep divide is mangling social networks from hair salons to coffee clubs.

Studies from the Pew Research Center for People and the Press shows a widening abyss. Over 20 years, researchers have asked the same questions of Republicans and Democrats and discovered a growing divide over everything from national security to social values.

A 2007 study found that three-quarters of Americans said they liked political leaders who were willing to compromise. But when it comes to hot-button issues -- such as abortion or the war in Iraq -- people wanted their side to win.

Take the gathering of Latina lawyers who've met weekly for 20 years. Most, passionate Democrats, were stunned last week when a new woman showed up to express her excitement about Sarah Palin.

"It was an incredibly hot debate," said Teresa Casilla, who plans to call the woman and apologize. "I had to stand up and walk around, I was so upset."

Different people have different strategies.

"We walk the line," said Michael Schaffer, owner of the Red Room, the lunch-hour hot- spot for statehouse politicos.

"People walk in and say, 'Who're you voting
Carolyn and Geoff Blue strike a pose in their front yard, where Democrat Carolyn's political signs are lined up on the left and Republican Geoff's on the right. From coffee shops to front lawns, the election has accentuated the political divide in America. (RJ Sangosti, The Denver Post )
for?' I tell them that it's my personal choice."

Any answer would upset half his clientele.

The political divide is nowhere more evident than the yard of Geoff and Carolyn Blue. The left side of their lawn sports her Democratic yard signs while the right side is dominated by his Republican signs.

In their largely Democratic neighborhood, Geoff -- a former president of the Denver Metro Young Republicans -- is in the minority.

"People are fairly respectful about it," he said.

In larger circles, however, the Republican is ready for what has become a predictable discussion.

"The question I get all the time from hard- core Democrats is, 'You don't like Sarah Palin, do you?' "

When he says "yes," sometimes people want more detail.

Christian aid groups fear catastrophe in Congos North Kivu province

[Ecumenical News International, Geneva] Christian emergency response organizations have expressed alarm at a deteriorating situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo's North Kivu province and about brutalities innocent civilians are facing in a potential humanitarian catastrophe.

The Geneva-based ACT International (Action by Churches Together) said in a statement on October 30 that it had accounts from aid workers of looted shops and dead bodies on the pavements in Goma, the capital of North Kivu province.

"It has been a night of horror, but Goma is quiet now," ACT International quoted one of its aid workers as saying. Emergency work became paralysed after aid workers themselves were withdrawn from the field for security reasons, while thousands of people have sought refuge as rebel leader General Laurent Nkunda has moved towards the city.

In Manila, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on October 30 appealed for an end to the fighting in the DRC saying, "Unfortunately, the situation in Goma is worrisome. There were some attacks even against the United Nations mission by civilian people."

Emile Mpanya, ACT representative in Kisangani, the most northerly navigable point on the River Congo, said that the U.N. security service has asked the emergency agencies to withdraw international staff from the area.

Mpanya said he had received eyewitness accounts of armed groups shooting and engaging in overnight looting. Many shops have been pillaged and houses broken into. A family of nine, including a breastfeeding baby, was killed in the Katindo area. Several corpses were found in the streets on the morning of October 30.

The ACT International statement said, "The population in Goma is confused. They can hardly find out who is in charge in town and what soldiers they see walking in the streets. Thousands have fled to Goma in panic. Others are on the run out of town, mostly families of the retreating Congolese soldiers."

Mpanya, who works for the Lutheran World Service, a member of ACT International, said that people also have moved to Lubero, 93 miles north of Goma town. Many of them are wounded soldiers and civilians.

intended release of Michelle Obama tapes stirs trouble in many circles

The Obama camp is not saying anything publicly now, but have chosen to work behind the scenes in their efforts to influence the release of Michelle Obama tape. The impact the tape is expected to have on National Security when finally released will be huge.

Peaceful approach to have the tapes not to be released has now turned into direct threats directed against API. The threats being unleashed against API comes after API Chief Editor's unwillingness to accept the offer of a bribe by Obama Camp's Campaign Manager was turned down.

The next few hours will be very crucial for API. The news organization is now putting the facts surrounding the bribe attempt together and will take a decision today to request the police to file charges against the Campaign Manager.

API on the other hand does not want to surrender to the pressure being mounted, even though faced with danger for ignoring the warnings not to allow the release of the tape. API is being bombarded with death threats from people who say have been hired to silence API and those involved in the plan to have the tapes released.

The US embassy in Norway together with the Norwegian Security Service has been duly informed of the situation and has promised to give the matter the priority it deserves.

Due to the situation that has arisen, and security considerations, API reprentative's trip to New York today to participate in a planned live interview will be temporarily delayed for some hours while the Embassy looks into the matter.

Now that the situation has become so dangerous because some people are afraid to let the American people know the truth about Michelle Obama's stand exhibited by her in the tape, API will thread carefully and will classify details on what is going on, especially details on when the API representative will fly to New York, which flight and where he will be housed while in the US. This will be done to avoid exposing him to any danger while on US soil

API will not rest until the tape is aired so that the American people may judge for themselves whether the contents of the tape is of relevance to the elections taking place November the 4th.

Guessing the politics of college football coaches

I missed the Barack Obama infomercial on Wednesday night, which is too bad. I'm told the segment with Suzanne Somers, where she instructs him on proper Thighmaster techniques, is must-see TV. I'm over it, though. At T-minus four days and counting till Nov. 4, I'm approaching full political saturation.

Traveling in Pennsylvania and Ohio last week, I felt as if I were being stalked by the candidates, all four of whom are positively haunting these swing states during the final fortnight of the campaign. In fact, there was Obama, greeting me in Jay Paterno's office when I called on the Nittany Lions co-offensive coordinator two Tuesdays ago.

Obama was actually posing with Jay on the coach's screensaver. Jay was kind enough to share extensive background on the evolution of Penn State's Spread HD offense, very little of which made it out of my notebook following the team's 13-6 squeaker in Columbus. (Sorry about that, Jay. Surely those notes will come in handy in ... Miami?)

It turns out Jay is a fervent Obama supporter. Before the candidate visited campus last March, one of his people called Jay. They wanted to pay obeisance to the legend. "We know Joe can't endorse him," went the message, "but we wanted to reach out, as a sign of respect." Jay got his father on the phone with the Senator.

JoePa couldn't endorse Obama because he's a staunch Republican. Remember that Paterno actually gave a speech for his good friend, George H. W. Bush, at the 1988 Republican National Convention.

While Paterno pere wears his allegiance on his sleeve, what of his peers? When it comes to politics, college football's most high profile deciders seem to be determinedly agnostic -- determined to either have no strong feelings one way or the other, or to keep those feelings at home, locked in a 33-gallon Clear Tote from the Container Store.

Fine. Be that way, guys. I will divine your politics by reading the tea leaves of your public utterances; studying the sheep's entrails of your methods and philosophies.

And no matter how wrong I am, I'll take comfort in still having a better record than Lee Corso.

Christian Anti-Defamation Commission Challenges Obama Christianity Claims

Christian Group Reviews Obama History, Writings, and Interviews to Expose Presidential Candidate's Disingenuous Religious Proclamations

Contact: Sharaya Cass, The Christian Anti-Defamation Commission (CADC), 760-630-2232

MEDIA ADVISORY, October 30 /Christian Newswire/ -- Barack Obama, the Democratic candidate for president of the United States, has repeatedly claimed to be a Christian, but there is more evidence disputing that declaration than affirming it according to Dr. Gary Cass, Chairman and CEO of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission.

Dr. Cass observes, "From his speeches and his writings, even his personal history--despite protestations to the contrary--it appears that Obama's 'Christianity' is carefully constructed to appease traditional American voters."

Americans expect their leaders to embody Judeo-Christian ideals and beliefs, so it is important for Obama to be perceived as a practicing Christian. Every one of the forty-three United States presidents, regardless of political party, has mentioned God in his inaugural address. George Washington, the hero of the American Revolution, the first president of the United States, and often referred to as the 'Father of Our Country' stated: "It is impossible to properly govern without God and the Bible."

Dr. Cass summarizes: "Here's a man, Obama, who desperately needs to convince half the voters in the United States that he believes in something that he doesn't truly understand...even two decades after his alleged conversion to Christianity."

Unfortunately for Obama, it is not his political opponents who expose this fiction, it is his own words, as well as those of his friends and family.

Obama's Muslim Roots

Dr. Cass explains, "The most glaring misstatement of fact in the packaging of Obama for the presidency is assertion that--in his words--he is rooted in Christian tradition. The claim is unsubstantiated. His mother was, at best, an agnostic. His biological father was a Muslim. His stepfather was from a devout Muslim family. Throughout his formative years, Obama lived in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim society where--according to a passage in his first memoir, Dreams from My Father--he studied the Koran. He lived his teen years with his maternal grandparents who, by his own description, were Universalists, not Christians."

In a 2007 New York Times interview, entitled Obama, A man of the World, Obama fondly recalled the Islamic evening call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset." According to the article, "Obama went on to recite its opening lines with a perfect Arabic accent: "Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! I witness that there is no god but Allah! I witness that there is no god but Allah! I witness that Muhammad is his prophet!"

"A devoted follower of Jesus Christ would never say 'Allah is supreme and there is no god but Allah,'" argues Dr. Cass. "Sitting in a pew from time to time doesn't make someone a Christian. If anything, Obama is rooted in Islamic tradition."

Obama On "My Muslim Faith"

On September 5th, 2008, in an ABC television network on-air conversation with former Clinton advisor turned political pundit, George Stephanopoulos, Obama uttered the line, "You're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith." Stephanopoulos quickly saved Obama from political disaster by reminding him that he meant to say his "Christian" faith.

"I have never met a Christian, especially one who claims to have been a Christian for twenty years, mistakenly confuse Islam with Christianity when referring to his or her personal faith," notes Dr. Cass. "Perhaps this was Obama's only candid public comment on his belief system since people started keeping track of the things he has said."

Libyan Strongman Identifies Obama as Muslim

On June 11th, 2008, Libyan leader Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi was videotaped and broadcast on Al-Jazeera TV at a gathering as he referred to: "A black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim who studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia. His name is Obama. All of the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and his success and they have been involved in a legitimate contribution campaign to win the American presidency."

Dr. Cass observes, "Clearly one of the world's most vocal anti-American Arab leaders is convinced that Obama is a Muslim and is cheering the possibility of having a brother Muslim named the leader of the free world. Just as troubling is the candid admission that Muslims in Arab countries and in Africa are making financial contributions to the Obama campaign. It is against U.S. election laws for foreign nationals to give money to any candidate for federal office, but that is apparently not a deterrent to Obama or to Qadhafi."

Marketing Obama In America

At a time when the United States is at war with Islamic fundamentalists, it has been vital that the candidate obliterate any connection to his Muslim roots. For the American public to buy the Obama brand, it was pivotal that the candidate convince voters that he was a bona fide Christian.

As Dr. Cass observes, "Once he decided to run for president, Obama and his surrogates started attacking anyone who questioned his Christianity. So, for an accurate insight into his duplicity, we need to look at an interview he gave to Chicago Sun-Times religion columnist, Cathleen Falsani, on March 24th, 2004, a few days after he was nominated to run for the U.S. Sentate from the state of Illinois and three years before he was considered a presidential candidate."

During the exhaustive interview with Falsani, Obama showed himself to be profoundly uninformed about the basic tenets of the Christian faith. Falsani, who currently also writes a blog for the pro-Obama website, The Huffington Post, authored the book, The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People, a collection of spiritual profiles. (Published in 2006 by Farrar, Straus & Giroux.)

Obama's Statement of "Faith"

To Falsani's question, "What do you believe?" Obama answered: "I am a Christian. So, I have a deep faith. So I draw from the Christian faith." Then he qualifies that statement by saying, "On the other hand, I was born in Hawaii where obviously there are a lot of Eastern influences. I lived in Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world, between the ages of six and 10. My father was from Kenya, and although he was probably most accurately labeled an agnostic, his father was Muslim. And I'd say, probably, intellectually I've drawn as much from Judaism as any other faith."

Obama continued to distance himself from the teachings of Jesus when he finished his answer saying, "I'm rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people."

Three things the Obamedia will do to depress Republican turnout and help Obama

Three things the Obamedia will do to depress Republican turnout and help Obama

This is really intended for Republicans who did not follow the primaries on the Democrats' side this year (because, well, we guess you took a nice long Atlantis cruise to Mars, in which case, color us jealous).

The same pattern that unfolded during our primaries is happening again, because the media has just one tattered old used playbook (written by David Axelrod, of course), and they have not deviated from it yet. What the media and Obama campaign did, in concert, to Hillary Clinton before every major primary is what they are doing to McCain/Palin now. Here are the top three media/Obama head tricks to watch out for in the last days before the election.

If you, collectively, can keep Republicans and other McCain voters from falling for these, we believe there's nothing Obama can do to win this election. The ONLY way McCain loses is if you Eeyores allow the media to keep you from the polls.
Head Games Coming Your Way:

(1) Calls for McCain to just give up and quit, because the race is over. This one is a favorite of the trolls who lurk on pro-McCain sites. We get them here, despite all the spraying and fumigating we do, but notice how we ignore these trolls. We've identified two paid Obama staffers who have been assigned to HillBuzz. We picked them up around the same time people from Ace and LGF started picking up some of our stuff -- so our guess is they were assigned to us by whoever was monitoring those sites. They're different trolls than the ones assigned to us during the primaries (we only had one back then, so evidently we've gotten more on the radar now). One of them starts posting "her" concern troll remarks here at 8am. The other one starts "his" remarks around 5pm or so. It appears there are two shifts for the trolls -- and from what we can see, they share the same computer and IP address. And it's an address right here in Chicago. Imagine that. We wonder if we've ever run into these people at Houlihan's on Michigan Avenue after one of their shifts, as that's where a lot of Obama staffers like to go for a drink, and where we often hang out to see what we can overhear while pretending to read a book over a little dinner. Since we're going to be in Ohio the rest of the time before the election, we're okay with letting you in on that little bit, as we won't be able to eavesdrop on you anymore. But the information these Obama staffers inadvertantly provided was really helpful on a lot of things. A great way to see how the race was going was to listen for how "audacious" these people felt that day. That's their internal lingo: "Are you feelin' it? Are you feelin' audacious today?". "Nope, not feelin' the audacity today, 'cause we know those PA polls are bogus and BO's not gonna take the state". Word to the wise: these staffers were never as "audacious" as the media and skewed polls have insisted they should be.

It's so funny, but when you work on these campaigns every day and give up all of your free time and all other activities for this, you just know when the media's lying and reading from an Axelrod script. The coerographed calls for Hillary Clinton to drop out of the race before New Hampshire, before Super Tuesday, before Ohio and Texas, before Pennsylvania, before West Virgina, before Kentucky, before Indiana, and before South Dakota were completely ridiculous to us -- and yet, Eeyores always listened, and lost enthusiasm and drive because 'the TV said Hillary needs to just quit". We know this kept some Eeyores from going out to vote, because they thought, "Why bother? The TV told me she's gonna lose!". Well, the TV lies. And the toaster says you're fat. Unfortunately, the toaster's telling the truth. The microwave tells you to set fires - and that just means you're nuts, because why would it do that?

Obama accepted a bribe as a state senator

NOTE: The article below is from last year. It's a story that was never picked up by the media (since when have they ever picked up anything about Obama?) and the Clinton campaign did not know what to do with this -- people we've spoken to said that, in retrospect, they realize what a mistake this was because what Obama did here is actually a prosecutable crime. We were told, specifically, that the bribe Obama took as a state senator is the thing David Axelrod has lived in terror of this whole campaign -- he has been praying this does not get out.

One reason this never came back to bite Obama is that the article below is overly long -- and the part about the bribe is buried in the middle -- it's no coincidence this story appeared in the LA Times. The article's author, Dan Morain, tried to bring this bribe up in the primaries, but never had any support in the media to go anywhere with it.

One of the greatest advantages Obama has is that he's surrounded by so many crooked deals, kooks, loons, and criminals that it's hard for the public to understand most of what's going on. Here in Chicago, Team Hillary kept trying to bring up Obama's connections to Tony Rezko and the land deal for Obama's Mansion -- but people couldn't understand what the Rezko dealings were all about. They still don't understand it. And they won't read a long article like the one below about the rest of Obama's dirty dealings.

Confession of an Obama Blogger - by Sarah P (as posted to this site)

sarah p Says:
October 27, 2008 at 5:04 am

Ok, I want to clear my conscious a little. Hopefully you could make a blog post to help some fellow clinton supporters out.

I work for a campaign and can't wait for this week to be over.

I was doing it for a job. I was not a fan of any candidate but over time grew to love HRC.

The internal campaign idea is to twist, distort, humiliate and finally dispirit you.

We pay people and organize people to go to all the online sites and "play the part of a clinton or mccain supporter who just switched our support for obama"

We do this to stifle your motivation and to destroy your confidence.

We did this the whole primary and it worked.

Sprinkle in mass vote confusion and it becomes bewildering. Most people lose patience and just give up on their support of a candidate and decide to just block out tv, news, websites, etc.

This surprisingly has had a huge suppressing movement and vote turnout issues.

Next, we infiltrate all the blogs and all the youtube videos and overwhelm the voting, the comments, etc. All to continue this appearance of overwhelming world support.

People makes posts to the effect that the world has "gone mad"

Thats the intention. To make you feel stressed and crazy and feel like the world is ending.

We have also had quite a hand in skewing many many polls, some we couldn't control as much as we would have liked. But many we have spoiled over. Just enough to make real clear politics look scarey to a mccain supporter. Its worked, alough the goal was to appear 13-15 points ahead.

see, the results have been working. People tend to support a winner, go with the flow, become "sheeple"

The polls are roughly 3-5 points in favor of Barack. Thats due to our inflation of the polls and pulling in the sheeple.

Our donors, are the same people who finance the MSM. Their interests are tied, Barack then tends to come across as teflon. Nothing sticks. And trust, there were meetings with Fox news. The goal was to blunt them as much as possible. Watch Bill Oreilly he has become much more diplomatic and "fair and balanced" and soft. Its because he wants to retain the #1 spot on cable news and to do that he has to have access to the Obama campaign and we worked hard at stringing him a long and keeping him soft for an interview swap. It worked and now he is anticipating more access. So he is playing it still soft.

This is why nothing sticks.

The operation is massive, the goal is to paint a picture that is that of a winner, regardless of the results.

There is no true inauguration draft or true grant park construction going on. There will be a party, but we are boasting beyond the truth to make it seem like the election is wrapped up.

Our goal is to continue to make you lose your moral. We worked hard at persuasion and paying off and timing and playing the right political numbers to get key republican endorsements to make it seem even more like it was over and the world was coming to an end for you all.

There is a huge staff of people working around the clock, watching every site, blogs, etc. We flood these sites. We have had a goal to overwhelm.

The truth is here. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

I am saying this because I know HRC was better for the country, and now realize this. I was too late by the time I connected to her. To me Barack was just a cool young dude that seemed like a star. I didn't know him or his policies, but now I understand more than I care to and I realize his interests are more for him, and the DNC and all working like puppets with dean. I always thought a president wanted the better good for the country. The end result I see is everyone dependent on the government, this means more and more people voting for the DNC. This means the future is forever altered. I don't see this as america, so I am now supporting John Mccain.

Sarah Palin is a huge threat, and our campaign has feared her like you can't imagine. If it seems unfair how she has been treated, well its because she has had a team working round the clock to make her look like a fool.

this is a big conspiracy and I am so shocked that its not realized.

We released a little blurb the other day that the Obama campaign was already working on reelection and now putting our efforts towards 2012. This was to make it seem like it was above us to continue caring about 2008. Trust me, its a lie. David is very smart, but its a sticky ugly not very truthful kind of intelligence.

Its not over yet, but I think the machine is working. And its a hill to climb.

I will be quitting my post on nov 5th and my vote will be for John Mccain. Fortunately, my position has been a marketing position and I don't feel I had any part of anything I would feel guilty for. But I look forward to getting out of this as the negativity and environment upsets me.

I wish you all well, and goodluck.

PS my name is not really sarah. but I am a female and I understand your plight. Source>>>

Obama Plane Pitches Reporters From McCain-Endorsing Papers

Obama Plane Pitches Reporters From McCain-Endorsing Papers
The Barack Obama campaign has reportedly booted from its campaign plane reporters from three newspapers that endorsed John McCain.

FOXNews.com

Friday, 2008-31-305

Journalists from three major newspapers -- each having endorsed John McCain -- reportedly have been booted from the Barack Obama campaign plane for the final leg of the presidential campaign.

The Washington Times reported Friday that they were notified of the Obama campaign's decision Thursday evening -- even though the paper has covered Obama from the start.

"I hope the candidate that promises to unite America isn't using a litmus test to determine who gets to cover his campaign," Washington Times Executive Editor John Solomon said in the article

The New York Post and Dallas Morning News also have been kicked off Obama's plane, according to the Web site The Drudge Report.

The Washington Times has protested the campaign's decision.

Representatives from the Post and Morning News could not be reached immediately for comment.

The book that Barack Obama and his cheerleaders in the media don't want you to read

The book that Barack Obama and his cheerleaders in the media don't want you to read

How could a man with the farthest-left voting record in the U.S. Senate ... who has vowed to raise taxes and increase government spending ... who has promised unilateral retreat from the War on Terror ... who has had close relationships with a former terrorist, a hate-spewing racist minister, and the corrupt operators of Chicago machine politics ...

How could such a man be on the brink of becoming the next President of the United States? It's because the liberal media has presented Obama as a kind of political savior who will infuse us with "hope" by delivering "change." So few Americans have the slightest idea who Barack Obama really is, what he really stands for ... or how he really got where he is today.

Well, that's about to change - thanks to a new book called The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate. In this shocking exposé, crack investigative reporter David Freddoso demonstrates that despite the hype, Barack Obama doesn't represent "change" or new thinking in American politics at all. In reality, he is a far-left liberal politician in the mold of Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore, Mike Dukakis, and Walter Mondale -- but with charm and political savvy that rivals that of Bill Clinton.

It is imprudent in the extreme -- and dangerous for our survival as a nation -- for Americans to entertain false hopes about what Obama stands for and what he can accomplish in the way of changing history and American attitudes. That's what makes The Case Against Barack Obama so important. Here is the book that moves beyond the rhetoric, giving you the sobering truth about the real Barack Obama.

Mortgage Plan May Aid Many and Irk Others

Article Tools Sponsored By
By DAVID STREITFELD
Published: October 30, 2008

As the Treasury Department prepares a $40 billion program to help delinquent homeowners avoid foreclosure, it confronts a difficult challenge: not making the plan too tempting to people like Todd Lawrence.

An airline pilot who lives outside Norwich, Conn., Mr. Lawrence has a traditional 30-year mortgage that he has no trouble paying every month. But, thanks to the plunging real estate market, he owes more on his house than it is worth, like millions of other people.

If the banks, which frequently lent irresponsibly, and many homeowners, who often borrowed irresponsibly, are getting government assistance, Mr. Lawrence says he believes sober souls like himself are also due a break.

"Why am I being punished for having bought a house I could afford?" he asked. "I am beginning to think I would have rocks in my head if I keep paying my mortgage."

The plan, still under development by Treasury, is part of the economic rescue package passed by Congress earlier this month. It is aimed at aiding up to three million beleaguered homeowners by reducing their monthly payments.

THE PARTY'S OVER

By Linda Monk

The Crash of 2008, which is now wiping out trillions of dollars of our people's wealth, is, like the Crash of 1929, likely to mark the end of one era and the onset of another.
The new era will see a more sober and much diminished America .

The 'Omni power' and 'Indispensable Nation' we heard about in all the hubris and braggadocio following our Cold War victory is history.

Seizing on the crisis, the left says we are witnessing the failure of market economics, a failure of conservatism.

This is nonsense.

What we are witnessing is the collapse of Gordon Gecko ('Greed Is Good!') capitalism.

What we are witnessing is what happens to a prodigal nation that ignores history, and forgets and abandons the philosophy and principles that made it great.

A true conservative (Rep or Dem) cherishes prudence and believes in fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets and a self-reliant republic.

He believes in saving for retirement and a rainy day, in deferred gratification, in not buying on credit what you cannot afford, in living within your means.

Is that really what got Wall Street and us into this mess -- that we followed too religiously the gospel of Robert Taft and Russell Kirk?

'Government must save us!' cries the left, as ever.

Yet, who got us into this mess if not the government -- the Fed with its easy money, Bush with his profligate spending, and Congress and the SEC by liberating Wall Street and failing to step in and stop the drunken orgy?

For years, we Americans have spent more than we earned.

We save nothing.

Credit card debt, consumer debt, auto debt, mortgage debt, corporate debt -- all are at record levels.

Ebay Reveals Best, Worst Gifts For Holiday Season

Immediate family members tend to give the worst gifts and neckties are the least wanted items this holiday season, according to a recent survey.

eBay (NSDQ: EBAY) released results of a recent Opinion Research Corporation gift-giving survey of 3,307 adults online during the first two weeks of October. Twenty-four percent of respondents said neckties are the most dreaded gift. The survey, released Wednesday, also found that spouses, siblings, parents and children are often worse gift-givers than mothers-in-law.

Sixty-four percent of respondents said they prefer gift cards to other items. (Of course, eBay offers gift cards.) Consumer electronics proved popular as well, with men saying they would like larger items, like HDTV (20%), LCD TV (10%), and Blu-ray DVD players (7%). Twenty-six percent of women said they favor digital or video cameras, while 9% want an iPod.

Twenty-six percent of those who want personal electronics said they wish for a laptop. Of those who want gaming systems, 22% prefer Nintendo and 33% wantSony (NYSE: SNE) systems. Guitar Hero is most popular among those who want video games (14%), while Wii Fit comes in second at 13%. Eight percent of those who prefer games want Rock Band. Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party II is not so hot among respondents. Only 2% of those who want games cited it as a preference.

The iPhone is the hottest smart phone choice with 35% of those seeking smart phones stating a preference for the Apple touch-screen device. Forty-seven percent of women who want smart phones prefer a Blackberry, compared to 11% of men.

Forty-eight percent of respondents said they would like to receive clothing. Among men, jeans are the most popular item. Next to the dreaded necktie, flowers, and candles rounded out the list of least-desired gifts. source>>>

Politics is unfair. And in 2008, politics has been more unfair than usual

Politics is unfair. And in 2008, politics has been more unfair than usual. The least deserving candidate, based on actual accomplishments, is on the brink of winning the presidency. That's Barack Obama. Political leaders with far more impressive records and resumes and more believable talking points have either been vanquished by Obama (Hillary Clinton) or likely will be on Nov. 4 (John McCain). How fair is that?

American politics has always worked this way. Young upstarts, like Bill Clinton in 1992 and Obama today, have a special appeal to voters. Presidential candidates with minimal experience in national affairs have frequently been elected. Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush come to mind. Candidates with serious involvement in domestic and foreign policy often lose, as Hubert Humphrey, Walter Mondale and Bob Dole did.

McCain fits the Washington veteran mold. But his saga has had many twists and turns, including a moment recently when it appeared he would rise above adverse political trends and win the presidency. Then outside events intervened--matters utterly beyond his or his campaign's control--and McCain's prospects fell sharply. How unfair!

It was his experience that once put McCain in the frontrunner's spot in the presidential race. Having run a strong but losing campaign for the Republican nomination in 2000, McCain was regarded as odds-on to capture the nomination this year. He was next in line, with President Bush leaving office, and Republicans usually pick that person. Reagan was next in line in 1980. Dole was in 1996.

But the McCain effort sputtered in the summer of 2007. He was out of money, cratering in the polls and left with an organization on the ground in only a single state, New Hampshire. Staffers fled his campaign.

The McCain candidacy wasn't dead. And it was his rise from the political ashes that makes his recent crash due to the outside events so painful and, well, unfair.

To revive his campaign last year, McCain seized on the issue of the troop surge in Iraq, a strategy he'd been promoting for years. McCain mounted what he called a "no-surrender tour" and it worked. His poll numbers crawled upward. And when he won the New Hampshire primary in January, he was on his way to the nomination.

But Obama turned out to be more formidable than McCain's Republican opponents had been. In August, on the eve of the party conventions, McCain trailed Obama by roughly 10 points in most polls. He looked like a loser again.

But his unconventional TV ads depicting Obama as a mere celebrity and a political empty suit clicked. They captured the most vulnerable aspect of Obama's profile: His lofty speeches masked a thin record of accomplishments. The McCain campaign began to pick up momentum.

Obama's acceptance speech in a football stadium with fake Roman columns behind him was dramatic. The media loved it. But McCain got a bigger boost from the Republican convention than Obama did from the Democratic convention. The chief reason was his surprise selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate.

Obama & Crowds,, The masses greeting the candidate on the trail are a sign of great unease.

There is something odd -- and dare I say novel -- in American politics about the crowds that have been greeting Barack Obama on his campaign trail. Hitherto, crowds have not been a prominent feature of American politics. We associate them with the temper of Third World societies. We think of places like Argentina and Egypt and Iran, of multitudes brought together by their zeal for a Peron or a Nasser or a Khomeini. In these kinds of societies, the crowd comes forth to affirm its faith in a redeemer: a man who would set the world right.
[Commentary] Martin Kozlowski

As the late Nobel laureate Elias Canetti observes in his great book, "Crowds and Power" (first published in 1960), the crowd is based on an illusion of equality: Its quest is for that moment when "distinctions are thrown off and all become equal. It is for the sake of this blessed moment, when no one is greater or better than another, that people become a crowd." These crowds, in the tens of thousands, who have been turning out for the Democratic standard-bearer in St. Louis and Denver and Portland, are a measure of American distress.

On the face of it, there is nothing overwhelmingly stirring about Sen. Obama. There is a cerebral quality to him, and an air of detachment. He has eloquence, but within bounds. After nearly two years on the trail, the audience can pretty much anticipate and recite his lines. The political genius of the man is that he is a blank slate. The devotees can project onto him what they wish. The coalition that has propelled his quest -- African-Americans and affluent white liberals -- has no economic coherence. But for the moment, there is the illusion of a common undertaking -- Canetti's feeling of equality within the crowd. The day after, the crowd will of course discover its own fissures. The affluent will have to pay for the programs promised the poor. The redistribution agenda that runs through Mr. Obama's vision is anathema to the Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and the hedge-fund managers now smitten with him. Their ethos is one of competition and the justice of the rewards that come with risk and effort. All this is shelved, as the devotees sustain the candidacy of a man whose public career has been a steady advocacy of reining in the market and organizing those who believe in entitlement and redistribution.

A creature of universities and churches and nonprofit institutions, the Illinois senator, with the blessing and acquiescence of his upscale supporters, has glided past these hard distinctions. On the face of it, it must be surmised that his affluent devotees are ready to foot the bill for the new order, or are convinced that after victory the old ways will endure, and that Mr. Obama will govern from the center. Ambiguity has been a powerful weapon of this gifted candidate: He has been different things to different people, and he was under no obligation to tell this coalition of a thousand discontents, and a thousand visions, the details of his political programs: redistribution for the poor, postracial absolution and "modernity" for the upper end of the scale.

It was no accident that the white working class was the last segment of the population to sign up for the Obama journey. Their hesitancy was not about race. They were men and women of practicality; they distrusted oratory, they could see through the falseness of the solidarity offered by this campaign. They did not have much, but believed in the legitimacy of what little they had acquired. They valued work and its rewards. They knew and heard of staggering wealth made by the Masters of the Universe, but held onto their faith in the outcomes that economic life decreed. The economic hurricane that struck America some weeks ago shook them to the core. They now seek protection, the shelter of the state, and the promise of social repair. The bonuses of the wizards who ran the great corporate entities had not bothered them. It was the spectacle of the work of the wizards melting before our eyes that unsettled them.

I'm Voting for Those Not Yet Born Chuck Norris says!

My, how the landscape of elections has changed. Remember when the issue of abortion used to matter to conservatives in political races? Today presidential nominees can get away with murder, literally. They can smoke, toke and hang out with terrorists who do. What were once considered legitimate leadership litmus tests are now regarded as off-limit character assassinations and hate language. Recently, some nonprofit organizations have been threatened with the withdrawal of their tax-exempt statuses because their leaders merely voiced opposition to what they consider a moral issue: abortion.

Some people think after 35 years of ceaseless controversy since the Supreme Court's ruling in Roe v. Wade that abortion is an "old" issue better dropped. I disagree. I do believe the economy is an important issue in this election, but it's certainly not the only issue. We can't just be concerned about our finances. We also must be concerned about America's future and those who will occupy it. Our posterity matters. Their rights matter. And that includes their "unalienable Rights," with which they have been "endowed by their Creator," and among them are the quintessential rights: "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."

Abortion is not about a woman's "right to choose"; it is about a more fundamental "right to life," which is one of three specifically identified unalienable rights in the Declaration of Independence (and the Constitution, through Article VII and the Bill of Rights). And it is a violation of government's primary purpose: to protect innocent life.

Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1809, "The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government." He was not, of course, writing about the America of today, with state-sanctioned and even subsidized abortion and a movement to promote the killing of the elderly through euthanasia. But he could have been. His belief in what should be "the first and only legitimate object of good government" still should stand. Like Jefferson, our next president needs to uphold those same concerns, not say that such arenas are "above his paygrade." If he and his administration won't protect the rights of the living (even in the womb), then who will? A left-leaning Congress?

The truth is if Obama is elected, we will place a man in the highest office in the land who has the most liberal views and voting record on abortion of any president in American history. As a state senator in Illinois, he led opposition three years in a row (2001-2003) to a bill similar to the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which prevents the killing of babies unintentionally left alive by abortions. He also opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion and strongly disapproved of the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the partial-birth ban. He also voted to block a bill that would have required a doctor to notify at least one parent before performing an abortion on a minor from another state. He does not support the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer funding of abortion through Medicaid. Before a Planned Parenthood Action Fund last year, Obama promised to give first priority as president to the signing of the Freedom of Choice Act, which would make partial-birth abortion legal again. Strangely, Obama even once said he would not want his daughters to be "punished with a baby" caused by an unwanted pregnancy. With the next president likely adding two justices to the U.S. Supreme Court, it is clear that as president, Obama would appoint and support the most liberal judges and legal eagles, resulting in a pro-abortion advantage in our courts that would push abortion liberties to every extent of the law and land.

If Obama Wins, One Thing is Certain for your Investments

If Barack Obama wins this election, one thing is certain... he will preside over the largest expansion of the government's role in the economy since the 1930s.

This "New New Deal," as some Democrats are already calling it, may well have the same result as the original one: to turn a sharp, painful recession into a long Depression.

Will that set the stage for a GOP president in 2012 -- the way '70s stagflation under Jimmy Carter set the stage for Ronald Reagan? I doubt it. More likely, Obama will be able to parlay the hard economic times into a second term.

How? The same way FDR did... by blaming everything that happens on his watch on his predecessors. The worse things get, the more the Obamacrats will blame it on "eight years of Republican deregulation, tax cuts and greed," calling for even more government intervention as the solution.

And the media, of course, will back them up.

But believe it or not, I'm not writing to you today to warn of the dangers of an Obama presidency -- I suspect you know them all too well. What I am writing to you about is how to protect your own financial well-being during the hard times to come.

It's crucial to understand: Hard times for America does not necessarily mean hard times for you. As a very wise investment expert of my acquaintance, Nicholas Vardy, likes to say, "No matter what the state of financial markets, there is always a strategy out there that can make you money."

The key, Vardy explains, is to recognize opportunities wherever they may be and, more importantly, detach yourself from old themes that are no longer working.

Vardy himself, an American based in London, is a master at crafting such cutting-edge investment strategies -- which he then passes on to subscribers to his Global Stock Investor investment newsletter.

So, for instance, back in mid-2007 Vardy was months ahead of the curve in spotting the coming boom in "soft" (agricultural) commodities -- recommending stocks like Canadian fertilizer giant Potash, which shot up quickly in price before coming back down to earth, by which time his subscribers had safely banked profits of 82% in just over three months time.

And that's nothing compared to the magic Vardy performed for his subscribers during the week of October 6-10, now on record as the worst in Wall Street history.

Consider this: During that five-day trading period, which wiped out some $2.4 trillion in shareholder wealth, Vardy's Global Stock Investor portfolio finished the week in the black.

Compared to the -17% decline in the Dow, that's incredible.

How does Nicholas Vardy do it? If I knew, I'd be in his business, not mine. But I'm sure those countless hours he spends sharing investment ideas with Europe's top money managers has something to do with it -- not to mention his graduate degrees from Stanford and Harvard.

Don't get me wrong: Nicholas Vardy is no elitist snob. Though he makes his "real" money managing money for a few wealthy clients, he also likes to "spread the wealth" -- not through higher taxes (sorry, Obama), but by helping people like you and me make profitable investments.

Full disclosure: I receive a percentage of each subscription sold, but even if I didn't, I'd want you to know about this amazing service. Nicholas' advice is rock solid. You'll thank me later.

Let's face it, the next few years will be tough ones for America, no matter who wins the presidency. But, to repeat, they don't have to be tough ones for you -- if you follow the brilliant investment strategies in Nicholas Vardy's Global Stock Investor. I urge you to give it a try. source>>> Dick Morris

Grim proving ground for Obama's housing policy

The candidate endorsed subsidies for private entrepreneurs to build low-income units. But, while he garnered support from developers, many projects in his former district have fallen into disrepair.

Presidential hopeful, residents' complaints
(Boston Globe) At a dilapidated Chicago housing project, some see problems with Obama's favored housing policy. Produced by Scott LaPierre / Globe staff

CHICAGO - The squat brick buildings of Grove Parc Plaza, in a dense neighborhood that Barack Obama represented for eight years as a state senator, hold 504 apartments subsidized by the federal government for people who can't afford to live anywhere else.

But it's not safe to live here.

About 99 of the units are vacant, many rendered uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage. Mice scamper through the halls. Battered mailboxes hang open. Sewage backs up into kitchen sinks. In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale - a score so bad the buildings now face demolition.

Grove Parc has become a symbol for some in Chicago of the broader failures of giving public subsidies to private companies to build and manage affordable housing - an approach strongly backed by Obama as the best replacement for public housing.

As a state senator, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee coauthored an Illinois law creating a new pool of tax credits for developers. As a US senator, he pressed for increased federal subsidies. And as a presidential candidate, he has campaigned on a promise to create an Affordable Housing Trust Fund that could give developers an estimated $500 million a year.

But a Globe review found that thousands of apartments across Chicago that had been built with local, state, and federal subsidies - including several hundred in Obama's former district - deteriorated so completely that they were no longer habitable.

Grove Parc and several other prominent failures were developed and managed by Obama's close friends and political supporters. Those people profited from the subsidies even as many of Obama's constituents suffered. Tenants lost their homes; surrounding neighborhoods were blighted.

Some of the residents of Grove Parc say they are angry that Obama did not notice their plight. The development straddles the boundary of Obama's state Senate district. Many of the tenants have been his constituents for more than a decade.

"No one should have to live like this, and no one did anything about it," said Cynthia Ashley, who has lived at Grove Parc since 1994.

Obama's campaign, in a written response to Globe questions, affirmed the candidate's support of public-private partnerships as an alternative to public housing, saying that Obama has "consistently fought to make livable, affordable housing in mixed-income neighborhoods available to all."

The campaign did not respond to questions about whether Obama was aware of the problems with buildings in his district during his time as a state senator, nor did it comment on the roles played by people connected to the senator.

Among those tied to Obama politically, personally, or professionally are:

Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to Obama's presidential campaign and a member of his finance committee. Jarrett is the chief executive of Habitat Co., which managed Grove Parc Plaza from 2001 until this winter and co-managed an even larger subsidized complex in Chicago that was seized by the federal government in 2006, after city inspectors found widespread problems.Continued...

48 killed in blasts in northeast India

A series of coordinated blasts tore through towns and cities in India's northeastern state of Assam on Thursday, killing at least 48 people and wounding more than 300, officials said.

It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the blasts that went off within minutes of each other, but the region is torn by dozens of militant separatist groups that have long fought the government and one another.

Five blasts hit the state capital, Gauhati, killing 25, said Subhash Das, a senior official in the state's Home Ministry. Eleven were killed in Kokrajhar district and 12 more died in the town of Barpeta. At least 300 people were injured when the 13 blasts, most caused by bombs and at least one from a hand grenade, hit the state, he said.

An Associated Press reporter at the scene of the biggest blast, which took place a few hundred yards (meters) from the secretariat, the building housing the offices of the state's chief minister, said flames were leaping from charred cars, bodies were strewn across the road and a thick stream of black smoke was rising above the city.

Television footage showed firefighters spraying streams of water at charred, twisted cars and motorcycles that littered the blackened road.

Bystanders dragged the wounded and dead to cars that took them to hospitals, while police officers covered the burned remains of the dead with white sheets, leaving them in the street.

"I was shopping near the secretariat when I heard three to four loud explosions. Windowpanes in the shops shattered and we fell to the ground as the building started shaking," said H.K. Dutt, who was lightly wounded by shrapnel.

"I stood up and saw fire and smoke billowing out, then I looked down and saw blood on my shirt and realized I had been injured," Dutt said.

N.I. Hussain, Gauhati's deputy inspector general of police, told the CNN-IBN news channel that police in the state were on high alert and searching for more unexploded bombs.

"There may be more blasts. You never know," he said.

Later, dozens of people angry over the blasts took to the streets of the state capital, stoning vehicles and torching at least two fire engines. Police imposed a curfew on the city and shut down roads leading in and out of the area.

Dozens of militant separatist groups are active in India's northeast, an isolated region wedged between Bangladesh, Bhutan, China and Myanmar with only a thin corridor connecting it to the rest of India.

The separatists accuse the central government in New Delhi, 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) to the west, of exploiting the region's natural resources while doing little for the indigenous people -- most of whom are ethnically closer to Burma and China than to the rest of India.

More than 10,000 people have died in separatist violence over the past decade in the region.

The area also has been hit recently by ethnic clashes. At least 49 people were killed in July in violence between members of the native Bodo tribe and recent migrants to the area, most of whom are Muslims.

The government has blamed several previous serial attacks in India on Islamic militants from nearby Bangladesh. source>>>

Shakira to lobby Latin presidents on child welfare

Latin pop star Shakira, showing she can move more than her hips, will lobby Latin American presidents this week to start a regional project to pump money into children's health and education.

The singer will address a summit in El Salvador of Ibero-American leaders, including the presidents of Brazil and her native Colombia, over the need to feed and educate poor children, especially amid a global economic slowdown.

"There are difficult times coming in Latin America. Thousands and thousands of children will die if governments do not organize ways to distribute food during this crisis," Shakira told Reuters.

"I grew up in the developing world and I have witnessed the lack of opportunities that children have to live with," she added, speaking by telephone from Miami.

"In a country like mine, when a child is born poor, people die poor. But I'm fascinated by the fact that through education you can transform lives, you can end this cycle of poverty."

Some 35 million children live in poverty in Latin America with little or no access to proper food and education, Shakira said. Investing in a year of primary education can increase a person's adult income by up to 20 percent, she added.

Shakira's hip-swivelling dances and catchy ballads have earned her a huge global following and a string of Grammy awards. She began getting into social issues just a few years into her pop career, starting a Colombian children's charity called the Pies Descalzos (Bare Feet) Foundation in 1997, named after her breakthrough hit album released a year before.

While celebrities like Bono and Angelina Jolie have focused on Africa, Shakira uses her fame to make headlines on Latin America, where stubbornly high poverty levels can get overlooked because of healthier overall economic indicators.

Shakira helped launch the Fundacion ALAS (Latin America in Solidarity Action), which is behind the new initiative, and has lobbied British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the U.S. Congress on the need to educate children in poor countries.

"My heart is committed to this cause and it has been there for a long time, since I was 18," said Shakira, now 31, who has sold some 50 million albums around the world.

"I like to think that I can use my public profile to bring attention to more important issues than my own."

Her new project will seek funding from organizations like the World Bank and would monitor governments' efforts closely, although the golden-tressed singer regretted she would not have time to get involved in inspection efforts on the ground. source>>>

Children in Pakistan quake zone beg for food

Associated Press Writer= WAM, Pakistan (AP) - Children begged for food from trucks passing through a region of Pakistan hit by a strong earthquake as survivors prepared Thursday for another frigid night camped out in destroyed mountain villages.

As the death toll from Wednesday's earthquake in the southwestern province of Baluchistan rose to 215, soldiers and foreign aid groups distributed blankets, warm clothes and tents and treated the hundreds of injured.

But many among the estimated 15,000 people made homeless in the impoverished region close to Afghanistan complained of receiving little, if any, help.

"The earthquake destroyed our houses, but now the government's slow response is killing us," said Moosa Kaleem, who was sitting with his wife and four children in the town of Ziarat. "We can not spend another night in this chilly weather, especially the kids."

A poorly managed aid effort in Baluchistan could add to anti-government sentiment as the country's new leaders battle soaring violence from Islamist extremists and try to fix mounting economic problems.

The region is home to a long-running separatist movement, but has been largely spared the militant influence and violence seen in other tribal areas along the border with Afghanistan.

But among the first to aid quake victims were members of hardline Islamist political parties and groups, including one listed by the United States as a terrorist organization â€" a response likely to win them supporters.

The same outfits helped in the aftermath of a massive quake that killed 80,000 people in Kashmir and northern Pakistan in 2005, an effort that analysts say gave them added legitimacy.

Aid groups said the most urgent needs were emergency shelter materials and warm clothing. Temperatures were close to freezing in the worst-affected areas more than 2,000 meters (6,500 feet) above sea level.

Former employee of ACORN affiliate testifies group used Obama's donor list to solicit contributions

John McCain's campaign accused Barack Obama of lying to voters about the extent of his ties to the low-income advocacy group ACORN, after a former employee of an ACORN affiliate testified that her group used Obama's campaign donor list to solicit contributions.

Anita Moncrief, formerly of Project Vote in Washington, testified at a Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court hearing Wednesday on a state Republican Party lawsuit against ACORN. She said her group used the Obama list to target donors who had given the campaign the maximum allowed by law and wanted to contribute more.

"Today's testimony by a former employee of an ACORN affiliate proves Barack Obama is guilty of lying to the American people about his relationship with ACORN," McCain campaign manager Rick Davis said in a written statement, accusing Obama of working "hand-in-glove" with the group, which is under investigation for voter registration fraud in several states.

Obama has repeatedly said that his relationship with ACORN began and ended with legal work he did with the group in 1995. Republicans charge he's ignoring training sessions he did for the group years ago, money his campaign has paid an ACORN subsidiary for canvassing efforts and now the alleged connected mentioned in the Pennsylvania courtroom.

Project Vote national spokesman Michael McDunnah, however, denied Moncrief's suggestion that the list came from the Democratic presidential nominee's campaign. source>>>

RAND Lobbies Pentagon: Start War To Save U.S. Economy

RAND Lobbies Pentagon: Start War To Save U.S. Economy

EXCLUSIVE: Shocking proposal urges military leaders to attack major foreign power

Paul Joseph Watson & Yihan Dai
Prison Planet.com
Thursday, October 30, 2008

According to reports out of top Chinese mainstream news outlets, the RAND Corporation recently presented a shocking proposal to the Pentagon in which it lobbied for a war to be started with a major foreign power in an attempt to stimulate the American economy and prevent a recession.

A fierce debate has now ensued in China about who that foreign power may be, with China itself as well as Russia and even Japan suspected to be the targets of aggression.

The reports cite French media news sources as having uncovered the proposal, in which RAND suggested that the $700 billion dollars that has been earmarked to bailout Wall Street and failing banks instead be used to finance a new war which would in turn re-invigorate the flagging stock markets.

The RAND Corporation is a notoriously powerful NGO with deep ties to the U.S. military-industrial complex as well as interlocking connections with the Ford, Rockefeller, and Carnegie foundations.

(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)

Current directors of RAND include Frank Charles Carlucci III, former Defense Secretary and Deputy Director of the CIA, Ronald L. Olson, Council on Foreign Relations luminary and former Secretary of Labor, and Carl Bildt, top Bilderberg member and former Swedish Prime Minister.

Carlucci was chairman of the Carlyle Group from 1989-2005 and oversaw gargantuan profits the defense contractor made in the aftermath of 9/11 following the invasion of Afghanistan. The Carlyle Group has also received investment money from the Bin Laden family.

Reportedly, the RAND proposal brazenly urged that a new war could be launched to benefit the economy, but stressed that the target country would have to be a major influential power, and not a smaller country on the scale of Afghanistan or Iraq.

The reports have prompted a surge of public debate and tension in China about the possibility that a new global conflict is on the horizon.

China's biggest media outlet, Sohu.com, speculated that the target of the new war would probably be China or Russia, but that it could also be Iran or another middle eastern country. Japan was also mentioned as a potential target for the reason that Japan holds the most U.S. debt.

North Korea was considered as a target but ruled out because the scale of such a war would not be large enough for RAND's requirements.

The reported RAND proposal dovetails with recent comments made by Joe Biden, Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright and others, concerning the "guarantee" that Barack Obama will face a major "international crisis" soon after taking office.

It also arrives following a warning from Michael Bayer, chairman of a key Pentagon advisory panel, who echoed the statement that the next administration will face an international crisis within months of taking office.

One would hope that good people, or at least sane people who don't wish to start a global nuclear war, will oppose the RAND proposal, such as top the military generals who threatened to quit if Bush ordered an attack on Iran. Admiral William Fallon, the head of US Central Command, quit in March last year as a result of his opposition to Bush administration policy on Iran.

Study Shows Fewer Heart Attacks When Clocks Are Moved Back

his weekend brings daylight saving time, and if you're lucky enough to get an extra hour of sleep when you turn your clock back Saturday night, a new study suggests that it might save your life.

When researchers in Sweden examined the impact of daylight saving time on heart attack rates in that country, they discovered that people had slightly fewer heart attacks on the Monday after they set their clocks back in the fall and slightly more heart attacks in the days after they set their clocks ahead in the spring.

They presented their findings in a letter published in the Oct. 30 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine.

Study co-author Rickard Ljung, MD, PhD, says the results suggest that even small disturbances in sleep patterns may affect the heart.

"We know that Monday is the most dangerous day for heart attacks," he tells WebMD. "It has been thought that this is due to the stress associated with returning to work after the weekend, but our study suggests that disturbed sleep rhythms may be involved, and that the extra hour of sleep we get in the fall [after daylight saving time ends] may be protective."

The Satanist Banker Conspiracy

The Satanist Banker Conspiracy

"Economic crises have been produced by us for the goyim by no other means than the withdrawal of money from circulation." - Protocols of Zion -20

Recently, on his internet radio show, Alan Stang asked me if there is such a thing as a Jewish conspiracy. He gets email from people blaming Jews, Jesuits, the Vatican, Freemasons etc.

I replied that the central banking cartel is the only group that has both the motive and the means to take over the world. Consisting mainly of Cabala-believing Jews and Freemasons, it is the head of the octopus. Zionism, Freemasonry, organized Jewry, Western Imperialism, Jesuits,Vatican, Intelligence agencies, mass media etc. are among countless octopus arms.

The "motive" is to protect its fraudulent private monopoly over public (government) credit money creation) which is worth trillions and trillions. They need a "world government" to ensure that no nation creates its own interest free money or defaults on the loans the bankers created out of nothing.

The "means" of course is unlimited money funnelled through their network of cartels, which allows them to own the government, mass media, education etc. Anyone who succeeds in public life is their puppet or unconsciously serves their agenda. Their Zionist-Freemason-Communist-Socialist-MI-5/6 network allows them to exercise covert control on the ground.

About 1770, a syndicate of bankers led by Mayer Rothschild started the "Illuminati", a satanic cult designed to subvert society. According to Edith Starr Miller, the Rothschild syndicate included Jewish financiers such as Daniel Itzig, Friedlander, the Goldsmids and Mosses Mocatta. ("Occult Theocracy" p. 184.)

According to Miller, the goals of the Illuminati (Communism and the NWO) were the destruction of Christianity, monarchies, nation-states (in favor of their world government or "internationalism"), the abolition of family ties and marriage by means of promoting homosexuality and promiscuity; the end of inheritance and private property; and the suppression of any collective identity in the spurious name of "universal human brotherhood" i.e. "diversity." (p.185)

SATANISM

The ideology behind this world tyranny, Illuminism, derives from the Jewish Cabala which conveniently preaches that man (i.e. the bankers) can usurp the place of God and redefine reality. Thus, the goal of world banker conspiracy is to enshrine Satan as God. The Illuminati uses revolution, war and financial turmoil to inaugurate their "New World Order."

The world government tyranny is the only conquest to take place without the knowledge of the conquered. In the First Protocol of the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion," the author says three times, our "countersign" is "Force and Make-believe." By "Make-believe" he means mass deception or "magic."

When alien bankers control the purse strings, inevitably the State becomes synonymous with these bankers. The State is a ruse used to manipulate the masses, "public" in name only. This is the truth behind the "make-believe" face of the Communist NWO.

This tyranny is also the first in history which people cannot mention for fear of being labeled "anti Semitic" and a "hater." Trust me, the hatred is entirely on the Cabalist side.

Leftists: Obama's Useful Idiots

Amil Imani
The New Media Journal
October 28, 2008

A major problem with Obama is that there are as many different versions of Obama as there are leftist pundits and there are legions of them.

Another reason why Obamamania in engulfing this nation is because he is all things to all pundits. Even a cursory study on Mr. Obama's past will reveal his abnormal body of contradictions and even outright deception. It is a fact that over the years a clique of masses on the left have been heavily indoctrinated with selective teachings that promote anti-Americanism, a love for socialism, hostility toward capitalism and free enterprise.

This bombardment of indoctrination combined with a siege mentality that creates the cradle of socialism which generates a fury of hatred , has the potential of devouring America. If only the far left Useful Idiots could purge the negative aspects of their dogma and practice the positive teaching of diversity, our community would be at peace with one another. This is the question. Is that possible or are we headed for the clash beyond the ideas?

The raw material for ideas and beliefs reaches us through the senses. The brain takes the massive barrage of input and attempts to organize it and incorporate it in an orderly fashion, a monumental task that is taken for granted until something goes seriously wrong. Relatively minor glitches in the working of the mind, such as misunderstanding, misperception, and making poor decisions, occur daily and may not present serious problems. Over time, however, even these minor glitches in the mind, caused by faulty input, poor processing or both, can add up and significantly compromise its integrity.

To make matters worse, a vociferous clique of local leftists with a suicide wish are doing all they can to take the country with them to the grave they so earnestly seek.

The pundits, the analysts and the politicians who have supported Obama, are doing a great disservice to the public and America. Each segment, for its own expedient reasons, is parroting the mantra of distribution of the wealth. Thus, a new generation of "Useful Idiots," the sort of people Lenin identified living in liberal democracies who furthered the work of communism, has arrived. This new generation of Useful Idiots also live in liberal democracies, but serve the cause of anti-Americanism -- with its virulent ideology and some added spice of Islamofascism, mostly on university campuses.

Many universities in the U.S. are bastions and incubators of many Useful Idiots. Far left professors do more than teach their subjects of a specialty. They feel that they have license to pontificate on any and all matters. That is why they are called "professors." These self-appointed prima donnas cover themselves with the shield of academic freedom. Academic freedom is like liberty -- it can be abused often and abused greatly. That is the price of freedom. Yet, these abusers of freedom, the far left, will be among the first to be buried under the rubble of the free society's collapse they work so doggedly to bring about.

On the other hand, the Muslim world is embracing Obama as their own, love our Useful Idiot politicians, and will happily ally with them, who then will gladly cede some of their power to this group of enforcers, so that conservative politicians and Christians who advocate self-defense and sane social policies are kept out of office. On university campuses, for example, extreme ideologies such as Islam will be portrayed as righteous and peaceful, while Christianity will be associated with evil Western and American values. What does the rebellious American youth do? They will eat it up.

Useful Idiots are naïve, they are foolish, they are ignorant of facts, they are unrealistically idealistic, they are dreamers and they are willfully in denial or deceptive. They hail from the ranks of the chronically unhappy. They are anarchists, they are aspiring revolutionaries, they are neurotics who are at war with life, the disaffected alienated from government, corporations, and just about any and all institutions of society.

The Useful Idiot can be a billionaire, a movie star, an academic of renown, a politician, or from any other segment of the population. Arguably, the most dangerous variant of the Useful Idiot is the "Politically Correct." He is the master practitioner of euphemism, hedging, doubletalk, and outright deception.

The Useful Idiot derives satisfaction from being anti-establishment. He finds perverse gratification in aiding the forces that aim to dismantle an existing order, whatever it may be, an order he neither approves of nor feels he belongs to.

The Useful Idiot is conflicted and dishonest. He fails to look inside himself and discover the causes of his own problems and unhappiness while he readily enlists himself in causes that validate his distorted perception.

Understandably, it is easier to blame others and the outside world than to examine oneself with an eye to self-discovery and self-improvement. Furthermore, criticizing and complaining -- liberal practices of the Useful Idiot -- require little talent and energy. The Useful Idiot is a great armchair philosopher and "Monday Morning Quarterback."

The Useful Idiot is not the same as a person who honestly has a different point of view. A society without honest and open differences of views is a dead society. Critical, different and fresh ideas are the lifeblood of a living society -- the very anathema of autocracies where the official position is sacrosanct.

Even a "normal" person spends a great deal more energy aiming to fix things out there than working to overcome his own flaws and shortcomings, or contribute positively to the larger society. People don't like to take stock of what they are doing or not doing that is responsible for the conditions of which they disapprove.

But the Useful Idiot takes things much farther. The Useful Idiot, among other things, is a master practitioner of scapegoating. He assigns blame to others while absolving himself of responsibility, has a long handy list of candidates for blaming anything and everything, and by living a distorted life, he contributes to the ills of society.

The Useful Idiot may even engage in willful misinformation and deception when it suits him. For example, terms such as "Political Islam," or "Radical Islam," for instance, are contributions of the Useful Idiot. These terms do not even exist in the native parlance of Islam, simply because they are redundant. Islam, by its very nature and according to its charter -- the Quran -- is a radical political movement.

If these suicidal, homicidal Useful Idiots make their way into the White House, the future historians will ask themselves: how the entire country could have seen this coming and done nothing about it. What kind of opiate were these people on?

Obama's 'Redistribution' Constitution The courts are poised for a takeover by the judicial left.

Obama's Constitution The Second Bill of Rights?

One of the great unappreciated stories of the past eight years is how thoroughly Senate Democrats thwarted efforts by President Bush to appoint judges to the lower federal courts.

Consider the most important lower federal court in the country: the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. In his two terms as president, Ronald Reagan appointed eight judges, an average of one a year, to this court. They included Robert Bork, Antonin Scalia, Kenneth Starr, Larry Silberman, Stephen Williams, James Buckley, Douglas Ginsburg and David Sentelle. In his two terms, George W. Bush was able to name only four: John Roberts, Janice Rogers Brown, Thomas Griffith and Brett Kavanaugh.

Although two seats on this court are vacant, Bush nominee Peter Keisler has been denied even a committee vote for two years. If Barack Obama wins the presidency, he will almost certainly fill those two vacant seats, the seats of two older Clinton appointees who will retire, and most likely the seats of four older Reagan and George H.W. Bush appointees who may retire as well.

The net result is that the legal left will once again have a majority on the nation's most important regulatory court of appeals.

The balance will shift as well on almost all of the 12 other federal appeals courts. Nine of the 13 will probably swing to the left if Mr. Obama is elected (not counting the Ninth Circuit, which the left solidly controls today). Circuit majorities are likely at stake in this presidential election for the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal. That includes the federal appeals courts for New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and virtually every other major center of finance in the country.

On the Supreme Court, six of the current nine justices will be 70 years old or older on January 20, 2009. There is a widespread expectation that the next president could make four appointments in just his first term, with maybe two more in a second term. Here too we are poised for heavy change.

These numbers ought to raise serious concern because of Mr. Obama's extreme left-wing views about the role of judges. He believes -- and he is quite open about this -- that judges ought to decide cases in light of the empathy they ought to feel for the little guy in any lawsuit.

Speaking in July 2007 at a conference of Planned Parenthood, he said: "[W]e need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges."

On this view, plaintiffs should usually win against defendants in civil cases; criminals in cases against the police; consumers, employees and stockholders in suits brought against corporations; and citizens in suits brought against the government. Empathy, not justice, ought to be the mission of the federal courts, and the redistribution of wealth should be their mantra.

In a Sept. 6, 2001, interview with Chicago Public Radio station WBEZ-FM, Mr. Obama noted that the Supreme Court under Chief Justice Earl Warren "never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society," and "to that extent as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical."

He also noted that the Court "didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it has been interpreted." That is to say, he noted that the U.S. Constitution as written is only a guarantee of negative liberties from government -- and not an entitlement to a right to welfare or economic justice.

This raises the question of whether Mr. Obama can in good faith take the presidential oath to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" as he must do if he is to take office. Does Mr. Obama support the Constitution as it is written, or does he support amendments to guarantee welfare? Is his provision of a "tax cut" to millions of Americans who currently pay no taxes merely a foreshadowing of constitutional rights to welfare, health care, Social Security, vacation time and the redistribution of wealth? Perhaps the candidate ought to be asked to answer these questions before the election rather than after.

Every new federal judge has been required by federal law to take an oath of office in which he swears that he will "administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich." Mr. Obama's emphasis on empathy in essence requires the appointment of judges committed in advance to violating this oath. To the traditional view of justice as a blindfolded person weighing legal claims fairly on a scale, he wants to tear the blindfold off, so the judge can rule for the party he empathizes with most.

The legal left wants Americans to imagine that the federal courts are very right-wing now, and that Mr. Obama will merely stem some great right-wing federal judicial tide. The reality is completely different. The federal courts hang in the balance, and it is the left which is poised to capture them.

A whole generation of Americans has come of age since the nation experienced the bad judicial appointments and foolish economic and regulatory policy of the Johnson and Carter administrations. If Mr. Obama wins we could possibly see any or all of the following: a federal constitutional right to welfare; a federal constitutional mandate of affirmative action wherever there are racial disparities, without regard to proof of discriminatory intent; a right for government-financed abortions through the third trimester of pregnancy; the abolition of capital punishment and the mass freeing of criminal defendants; ruinous shareholder suits against corporate officers and directors; and approval of huge punitive damage awards, like those imposed against tobacco companies, against many legitimate businesses such as those selling fattening food.

Nothing less than the very idea of liberty and the rule of law are at stake in this election. We should not let Mr. Obama replace justice with empathy in our nation's courtrooms.

As democracy is perfected,

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." -- H. L. Mencken

What did I hear that right? Obama said the U.S. Constitution was fundamentally flawed.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH A MARXIST?

In 2001, Barack Obama said he saw aspects of Nazi Germany in American society and government.

He also said the U.S. Constitution was fundamentally flawed.

And that he was disappointed that the Supreme Court had not ordered federally administered financial equality as part of the civil rights movement.

He also called for a political coalition to be formed that would force "redistributive" policies on the American people - using the power of government to equalize wealth across the society.

In 2008, that political coalition is about to take power.

It's called Obama '08.

And more surprising than the fact that a candidate for American president should harbor these political views is that nearly half the people in the country don't see any problem with them. The fact he holds such anti-American views is attributable to his own particular history and values. The fact tens of millions of people can be taken in by such views is attributable to a social and educational system that has failed to teach a love of country and an understanding of its unique history and values.

Unfortunately, we have raised a generation - and a candidate - steeped in Karl Marx instead of John Locke.

Karl Marx was a German philosopher of the middle 1800s who believed that property should be communal, that the money and labor of everyone should be thrown into one government-controlled pot and then passed back out to people based on their need.

He said, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need."

His teachings are the foundation of Communism and the governments of the Soviet Union, China and Cuba. He inspired Josef Stalin, Fidel Castro, Ho Chi Minh and Mao Tse Tung.

John Locke was an English philosopher of the late 1600s. He believed that people were only free if they were economically free. If you are not free to control the fruits of your own labors, then you are not truly free - you are a slave to whoever can take possession of what you produce.

His philosophy was, "Life, liberty and possession of property."

His teachings are the foundation of the government of the United States of America. He inspired Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, various other Founding Fathers, Voltaire and Rousseau.

Nowhere are John Locke's teachings better encapsulated than in the Declaration of Independence. Nowhere are Karl Marx's teachings better repudiated than in the Declaration of Independence.

Karl Marx taught that the individual is inferior to the state. John Locke taught that the individual is superior to the state. Karl Marx preached the collective will. John Locke preached the individual will.

Karl Marx called for central planning and control of society and its members. John Locke called for a society comprised of members planning and controlling their own lives.

The philosophies of Karl Marx and John Locke are mirror opposites. They are irreconcilable and mutually exclusive.

The Founding Fathers wrote a Constitution for our Republic that reflected, among other things, the values of John Locke. The supporters of Karl Marx have, for some 150 years, been the enemies of America and its Constitution.

Lebanon's Christian reconciliation remains up in the air

As Lebanon's president and prime minister headed Wednesday to Rome and Cairo respectively, the country's leading politicians remained focused on Christian reconciliation efforts and the upcoming parliamentary elections, which will draw the country's political map for the next four years.

President Michel Sleiman left for Rome on Wednesday, accompanied by a delegation that included Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh, Defense Minister Elias Murr and ministers of state Khaled Qabbani and Youssef Taqla. Sleiman is expected to meet on Thursday with his Italian counterpart, Giorgio Napolitano, and Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. On Friday, Sleiman is scheduled to meet with Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican. He is also to meet with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Butros Sfeir.

Sources quoted by the Central News Agency said on Wednesday that Sleiman's meeting with the patriarch would focus on launching a new initiative to achieve reconciliation among rival Christians.

The sources added that Sleiman would use the upcoming national dialogue session to try to promote reconciliation efforts among all factions.

As Sleiman began his visit to Rome, Egyptian and Lebanese officials began official talks on Wednesday in Cairo. The visiting Lebanese delegation is headed by Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and includes Education Minister Bahia Hariri, Economy and Trade Minister Mohammad Safadi, Energy and Water Resources Minister Alain Tabourian, Culture Minister Tammam Salam, Tourism Minister Elie Marouni and Minister of State Ibrahim Chamseddine. Three educational agreements were signed during the first meeting on Wednesday and additional agreements are expected to be signed on Thursday.

Siniora also met with a delegation of Lebanese and Egyptian businessmen.

Separately, Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun announced on Wednesday that he would run in the 2009 elections in Kesrouan-Jbeil and not in Baabda in order to put an end to criticism that he would win the latter district thanks to the Shiite vote.

In an interview with Kuwait's Al-Anbaa newspaper, Aoun acknowledged that "running in Kesrouan is a big challenge to me." However, he added that "All prospects are possible in the elections."

Aoun said that his popularity among Christians had not decreased to less than 51 percent, according to opinion polls. He added that he would be able secure 70 percent of the Christian vote based on his "future alliances."

Concerning efforts to achieve inter-Christian reconciliation, Aoun said: "The doors of reconciliation have not been closed, because they were not open in the first place."

Aoun added that apologies are useless when the people to whom they are addressed are not identified by name. Aoun was referring to remarks made by Lebanese Forces (LF) leader Samir Geagea, who has apologized for any "mistakes" that the LF may have committed during the Civil War. The LF boss has stopped short of apologizing directly to Marada Movement leader and former Interior Minister Suleiman Franjieh, whose father, mother and sister were killed by Geagea's militia in a 1978 raid on the family's home in Ehden. Geagea claims that he was shot before he arrived at the scene of the killings.

Aoun added that the best means for reconciliation was through the judiciary.

Meanwhile, Franjieh said the public should not dwell extensively upon reconciliation efforts, "because they will happen at the right time when conditions mature."

Franjieh met on Wednesday with the Maronite League president, Joseph Tarabay, who has been mediating between the Marada and the Lebanese Forces in a bid to reach a reconciliation agreement between the two long-time rivals.

"The reconciliation issue should be discussed calmly, because if discussions around it are hurried, its damage will be greater than its benefits," Franjieh said after the meeting. He added that he and Tarabay agreed on the need to ease tensions in the media and avoid political bickering through media outlets.

"The reconciliation is not a ball that we throw in someone else's court; it is a fundamental issue, as innocent blood was shed during a period of the history and the Christians were divided," Franjieh added.

However, the Marada leader added that his party was willing to continue talks with the Maronite League and said he hoped that the media would deal objectively with the matter.

Asked about the conditions that his party has put forward to agree on reconciliation with the LF, Franjieh said: "We have said it before and the League knows that our conditions are not very difficult to meet."

He added: "This issue should be permanently closed as it will not remain a trade product used by some parties in the media."

Tarabay, for his part, said the Maronite League was willing to continue its efforts until the reconciliation is achieved.

Franjieh also met on Wednesday with the UN secretary general's representative in Lebanon, Michael Williams.

Although inter-Christian reconciliation efforts appeared to be making little progress, Speaker Nabih Berri said on Wednesday that the country was going through a positive period in view of successful reconciliation initiatives. "Despite the Lebanese internal mosaic, there are positive developments prevailing over the country," he said, citing the meeting between Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri and Hizbullah secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah over the weekend.

Berri added that Egypt's ongoing cooperation served to encourage reconciliation among rival Lebanese factions.

The speaker met Wednesday with MP Butros Harb, with whom he discussed the latest developments. In remarks afterward, Harb said: "We have discussed the latest reconciliation efforts which yielded positively in the political arena and we hope that these reconciliations would be achieved between all the disputing parties, especially that the upcoming parliamentary elections require a calm atmosphere."

For his part, Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar said he did not expect that inter-Christian reconciliation would be achieved.

In comments to As-Sayyad magazine to be published Thursday, Najjar said: "I do not see that reconciliation is possible between General Michel Aoun and the Lebanese Forces [or between] Minister Suleiman Franjieh and the LF."

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc welcomed the talks between Nasrallah and Hariri over the weekend, saying the meeting had eased tensions in Lebanon and in the wider Arab and Islamic worlds.

The statement also stressed the bloc's adherence to the outcome of the Nasrallah-Hariri meeting and urged "all the Lebanese to cooperate" to achieve national reconciliation.

Meanwhile, former President Amin Gemayel said he hoped all Lebanese parties would follow the example of Hariri and Nasrallah.

In comments following his meeting on Wednesday with Russian Ambassador Serguei Boukin, Gemayel said: "There is a determination to push the reconciliation forward. The meeting between parliamentary majority leader MP Saad Hariri and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah should widen the framework of reconciliations."

"We support all efforts in this regard and we ask President Michel Sleiman and Patriarch Nasrallah Butros Sfeir to make further efforts to achieve inter-Christian reconciliation as soon as possible," he added source>>>

Court Upholds Cobb County Commissions Prayers at the start of Meetings

CBNNews.com - A Georgia county can continue to start their meetings with Christian prayers, a federal appeals court in Atlanta ruled on Tuesday.

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court rejected an American Civil Liberties Union lawsuit seeking to stop Cobb County from starting their meetings with prayers from invited ministers.

The suit claimed that overtly Christian prayers offered before the board of commissioners' and planning commission's meetings are an unconstitutional establishment of religion.

However, the court's decision, written by Judge Bill Pryor, concluded that courts should avoid parsing the content of prayers as long as they are not used to advance a particular religion or to disparage another faith.

County leaders use a master list of congregations for randomly selecting clergy to give the prayers, Pryor noted.

He also said that there was no proof that the prayers proselytize one faith over another, and the county has not helped compose or censor any of the prayers.

About 70 percent of the commissions' prayers are Christian. source>>>

First Lady’s Cousin Gets 3-Year Jail Term for violating Election Law

A Seoul court sentenced a cousin of the first lady to a jail term on charges of bribery, Wednesday.

The Seoul Central District Court sentenced Kim Ok-hee, 74, a cousin of the first lady, to two years behind bars for receiving three billion won from the chairman of a bus operators' association after having promised to help him get a place on the ruling Grand National Party's proportional representation ticket for the National Assembly.

She asked the president of the nation's largest senior citizens' organization to recommend the association leader as a candidate to the GNP. Despite the recommendation, however, he failed to win the ticket.

Separately, the court also ruled that she should be given another year in prison for receiving 200 million won from three former executive members of public firms in return for helping them get a new job.

``It is obvious that she violated the Election Law by deceiving people into giving her money in return for a seat at the National Assembly,'' a judge said in the ruling. ``We decided to sentence her to a strict punishment given the nature of the crime. She was also involved in other fraud cases to raise money when the chairman asked her to return his money after failing to win the ticket.''

The court sentenced the chairman of a bus operators' association to one year in prison and a broker who introduced him to Kim to 18 months in jail.

``The chairman claimed he is also a victim of fraud but we found that he also violated the Election Law by offering a bribe to win a National Assembly seat,'' the judge said.source>>>

Obama's Constitution The Second Bill of Rights?

Obama's Constitution The Second Bill of Rights?

Yesterday the Obama campaign called on University of Chicago law professor Cass Sunstein to tamp down the furor over Obama's advocacy of "redistributive change" and overcoming of the Constitution's "negative rights" in his 2001 radio interview. Politico's Ben Smith reliably channelled Professor Sunstein's spinning on behalf of Obama.

Professor Sunstein was actually the right man to call on to explain Obama's remarks. They derive directly from Sunstein's advocacy of Roosevelt's so-called second Bill of Rights. Sunstein devoted a book to the subject in 2004 -- The Second Bill of Rights: FDR's Unfinished Revolution and Why We Need It More Than Ever. Roosevelt set forth his "second Bill of Rights" in his January 1944 State of the Union Address:

In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all--regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

The right of every family to a decent home;

The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

The right to a good education.

Tom Palmer usefully explicated the political thought underlying Sunstein's argument in his review of the book. By contrast with the doctrine of rights conferred by God and nature set forth in the Declaration of Independence, Sunstein holds:

Obama is a Marxist Plan and Simple!

"So we're going to provide a $4,000 tuition credit, every student, every year, but, students, you're going to have to give back something in return. You're going to have to participate in community service. You're going to have to work in a homeless shelter, or a veteran's home, or an underserved school, or join the Peace Corps." - Barack Obama

So he wants to make "every student, every year" an employee of the state? And is this another step towards socializing higher education?

"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns, or religion, or antipathy to people who aren't like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment, or anti-trade sentiments as a way to explain their frustrations" - Barack Obama

Karl Marx famously claimed that religion was an opiate of the masses. He was explaining his view that the wealthy bourgeoise cynically used religion as a device to keep the poor, simple proletariat happy in their misery and squalor so they would find it immoral to rise up and overthrow their capitalists oppressors.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," - Barack Obama

Hmm, is this quote for Marxist or Fascist? I can't decide...

"It's because you have an obligation to yourself. Because our individual salvation depends on collective salvation." - Barack Obama

"The great task before our founders was putting into practice the ideal that government could simultaneously serve liberty and advance the common good. and Government, he believed, had an important role to play in advancing our common prosperity." - Barack Obama

Collective? Common prosperity? "the ultimate goal of socialism is common prosperity" Source: Yang Chungui, The Marxist

Nothing more to say here...

"Well, Charlie, what I've said is that I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of fairness." - Barack Obama

No, not because it would increase revenue, but for "fairness". Yes that's right...punish success...

Barack Obama was rated as the #1 most liberal senator in 2007 (even ahead of Bernie Sanders!) - " Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was the most liberal senator in 2007, according to National Journal's 27th annual vote ratings." Source: Brian Friel, Richard E. Cohen and Kirk Victor, National Journal

Commentary on Barack Obama's Economic Policies - "Among other things, he is concerned about the "winner-take-all" economy where, he says, "the gains from economic growth skew heavily toward the wealthy." Actually, the gains from economic growth can skew toward anyone willing to work hard and make personal and family decisions that improve their chances for success. This is boilerplate wealth redistribution, an economic philosophy at the center of the former Soviet Union. Obama and Democrats wish to embrace it now in order to make more people dependent on government, rather than encourage people to rely on themselves and the opportunity America offers to most citizens, even illegal aliens. Guaranteed equal outcome is socialism. America was built on and sustained by a "can do" spirit. Today, too many are taught a "can't do" spirit. They are told that because of factors over which they have no control -- race, class, poverty -- it is impossible for them to do anything for themselves and so they must increasingly rely on government. Government doesn't cure poverty." Source: Cal Thomas via pressdemocrat

About Obama's Health Care Plan - "the costs would be staggering" Source: Stuart Butler via William Neikirk, The Swamp

"One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It's very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project, most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can't afford it." - Ronald Reagan

Redistribution flashback: 1996 Obama Chicago chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America

Redistribution flashback: 1996

Barack Obama opened a can of worms with Joe the Plumber and his remarks on government "spreading the wealth". Over the weekend, an NPR interview from 2001 surfaced in which Obama noted that the failure to achieve redistributive change through the civil-rights movement was "one of [its] tragedies". Today, a reader sends me this recap from a spring 1996 meeting of the Chicago chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, which has a 34-year-old Obama talking redistribution at the beginning of his political career (emphases mine):

Barack Obama observed that Martin Luther King's March on Washington in the 1960s wasn't simply about civil rights but demanded jobs as well. Now the issue is again coming to the front, but he wished the issue was on the Democratic agenda not just on [Pat] Buchanan's.

One of the themes that has emerged in Barack Obama's campaign is "what does it take to create productive communities", not just consumptive communities. It is an issue that joins some of the best instincts of the conservatives with the better instincts of the left. He felt the state government has three constructive roles to play.

The first is "human capital development". By this he meant public education, welfare reform, and a "workforce preparation strategy". Public education requires equality in funding. It's not that money is the only solution to public education's problems but it's a start toward a solution. The current proposals for welfare reform are intended to eliminate welfare but it's also true that the status quo is not tenable. A true welfare system would provide for medical care, child care and job training. While Barack Obama did not use this term, it sounded very much like the "social wage" approach used by many social democratic labor parties. By "workforce preparation strategy", Barack Obama simply meant a coordinated, purposeful program of job training instead of the ad hoc, fragmented approach used by the State of Illinois today.

The state government can also play a role in redistribution, the allocation of wages and jobs. As Barack Obama noted, when someone gets paid $10 million to eliminate 4,000 jobs, the voters in his district know this is an issue of power not economics. The government can use as tools labor law reform, public works and contracts.

Obama won the endorsement of the CDSA in 1996, and from this report, it's not difficult to see why. As I wrote earlier, Obama offered them the flabby European model of Christian-Democrat socialism lite, and they leapt to support it. The CDSA amusingly notes that Obama ran unopposed in this race because "[h]is opponents have all dropped out or were ruled off the ballot." They never mention that Obama's own campaign forced them off the ballot, an action of which the socialists undoubtedly approved.

Obama, version 1996 and 2001, had no problem talking about government action to effect redistribution of wealth in communities. He showed a tendency to see economics as a power display rather than as a legitimate maximization of capital and profit. Look at Obama's analysis of a cutback; according to Obama, the only reason companies lay people off is to demonstrate power, not to make more efficient use of funds (or to pay ever-more exorbitant tax costs). That sounds as though it comes from an outlook more couched in Karl Marx rather than Milton Friedman. And the Socialists in Chicago ate it up.

What else did the CDSA panel that day suggest? Another speaker, UC professor Julius Wilson, demanded a new WPA program to employ millions, which echoes Joe Biden's repeated suggestions this election cycle. Jobs would be available to all Americans, "even Donald Trump, if he chose to do some useful work for a change". Wilson never quite gets around to discussing who would pay for a program that employed all Americans, but it's clear that he's very, very comfortable with the socialists.

As was Obama.

Australia To Enforce Mandatory Chinese-Style Internet Censorship

The Australian government is set to impose Chinese-style Internet censorship by enforcing a universal national filter that will block websites deemed "controversial," as part of a wider agenda to regulate the Internet according to free speech advocates.

A provision whereby Internet users could opt out of the filter by contacting their ISP has been stripped from the legislation, meaning the filter will be universal and mandatory.

The System Administrators Guild of Australia and Electronic Frontiers Australia have attacked the proposal, saying it will restrict web access, raise prices and slow internet traffic speeds.

The plan was first created as a way to combat child pornography and adult content, but could be extended to include controversial websites on euthanasia or anorexia," reports the Australian Herald Sun.

Communications minister Stephen Conroy revealed the mandatory censorship to the Senate estimates committee as the Global Network Initiative, bringing together leading companies, human rights organisations, academics and investors, committed the technology firms to "protect the freedom of expression and privacy rights of their users". (Complete black is white, up is down, double talk).

For the first, fast forward 23 days. It's November 17. Congress convenes for a special session with a veto-proof Democratic majority Senate, an expanded Democrat majority in the House and a Democrat in the White House.

The sole item on their agenda is to pass the $300 billion government spending package promised by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi back in October.

There is no mistaking what is coming. Even before Democrats won sweeping, one-party control of Washington, they had made their intentions to increase taxes and spending clear.

Originally pegged at $150 billion, Pelosi's spending package ballooned as time went on.

With 11 days to go before the election, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-MA) fleshed out some details of the massive spending package. Frank called for a 25 percent cut in defense spending and conceded that Democrats will raise taxes to pay for new government spending. If they couldn't get the votes in November, Frank was confident that they would have them in January.

And long before the election, President-elect Barack Obama had expressed his preference for wealth redistribution over wealth creation both on the campaign trail and in a startling radio interview in 2001, in which he claims the Warren Court was not radical enough. (Bill Whittle does an excellent job of dissecting this interview at National Review Online )

"You Can't Say We Weren't Warned"

The newly empowered Democratic majority passes the massive spending bill, confident that even a veto by President Bush can and will be overridden by their new Senate majority in January.

Before President-elect Barack Obama even takes office, government spending increases by $300 billion, bringing the grand total for the last six months of 2008 to $1.45 trillion.

And all center-right Americans can do is shake their heads and think, "You can't say we weren't warned."

There is a Different Future: Make the Election About Big Spending Vs Big Economic Growth

For candidates, campaign managers, and consultants who are disturbed at this look at the very near future, there is another way.

Mr. Obama We are to assume, and then believe on a leap of faith................................

"Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with Obama's economic plan or his plan to give the middle class a tax cut. It's just another distraction from an increasingly desperate McCain campaign."

The above quote is a part of the official response by the Obama campaign to the radio interview and the initial reaction to it.

Here is the problem in a nutshell. When the entrenched media decided to cast off the last vestiges of their pretense as guardians of the truth and as impassive seekers of fact...when they decided to openly and nakedly rig the election by and through their powers of distortion, they sealed off the portals to inquiries such as this.

The question is not now, nor has it ever been for anyone with an IQ above an ACORN...whether Senator Obama flirted with extreme far left radical ideology. It is pure sophistry to suggest otherwise. What has not been asked, in point of fact, what has been shielded from view for the American voting public...is how much took hold and how much remains in place.

Only when the prepared speeches end and the off the cuff mark seeps out of its shackles in the dungeon of duplicity, can we get a glimpse through the tower at the prisoner waiting to escape.

We are to assume, and then believe on a leap of faith...that "Frank" Marshall Davis...who sat the young Barry at his knee and told him how to think like a CPUSA member, yet left no mark upon the impressionable lad. (apparently in between abusing substances and 13 year old girls)

We are to assume, and then believe on a leap of faith that the radical professors at college (perhaps Edward Said being one?), and the radical fringe students with whom he chose to spend his free time, left no mark upon the worldview he was developing.

The Real Obama: Forget the Constitution, Economic “Justice” Demands Redistribution of Wealth

Now we know. We've finally achieved clarity with Barack Hussein Obama.

It hasn't been easy.

Ever since his campaign got off the ground, people-some people, anyway-have asked: "Who is this guy? What does he really stand for? Why aren't people more concerned about what he really believes? There is so much we don't know about his early years. Why, for example, has he refused to release his records from Columbia University when he was a student there? What about his twenty years as a regular congregant in Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church?"

This was no nominal church affiliation, remember: it was a close spiritual filiation. Wright married the Obamas. Obama made a $20,000 contribution to Wright's church in 2006. Yet Wright is an incendiary, anti-American radical who urged his parishioners to say "God damn America" and thinks HIV is a government plot to kill blacks.

And what about Obama's alliance-and it is an "alliance," not just an "association"-with the bomber William Ayers? Sure, Obama said he barely knew him, that he was just a "guy in the neighborhood," but thanks to the labors of journalists like Stanley Kurtz, we know that Obama's political career began in Ayers's living room, where he had his first fund-raiser in 1995, and that the two worked closely together for years in a variety of radical initiatives in Chicago.

Which special interest has given more money to the Obama campaign than any other?

Do you know which special interest has given more money to the Obama and Clinton campaigns than any other?

If you guessed "trial lawyers" -- well, okay, that's too easy. But can you guess which special interest came in second?

Labor unions? Nope. The Green Lobby? Nope. AARP? Wrong, again. NEA? Nyet.

Give up? Okay, here's the answer: Wall Street.

That's right. According to CNNMoney.com, Wall Street securities and investment firms have given over $35 million to Democratic candidates this election cycle. And the amount they've given to the Clinton and Obama campaigns is nearly five times the amount they've given to McCain.

If you've been wondering why the financial industry has been in meltdown -- and taking your 401(k) or investment portfolio down with it -- now you know.

Let's face it: The former frat boys who populate Wall Street today understand economics about as well as the pinko professors whose courses they snored through.

That's why betting their entire industry on "subprime" loans to people with no jobs and no collateral made sense to them -- and why betting the entire U.S. economy on the likes of Hillary and Obama makes sense to them now.

These jokers don't even know what's in their own self-interest, much less yours. Trusting them with your money is like trusting Bill Clinton to babysit your underage niece.

Recession Shopping, Coupon Use Up While Order Sizes Fall

Numbers released today by online coupon aggregator tjoos.com indicate that online spending patterns are rapidly changing and order sizes are down by 30% in the face of the current economic turmoil.
Over the last two months the average order sizes shrunk 30% from $103 in August to $72 in October. The largest drop in order sizes came from the over $250 bracket, which nearly halved from 10.3% to 5.3% of all orders, a strong indicator that consumers are putting off spending on big ticket items as the uncertainty about the economy continues.
Historically the use of price comparison and coupon sites tends to go up when the economy weakens. In 2001 tracking from ICOM Information & Communications, a Toronto-based marketing communications company, showed a significant increase in the number of coupons consumers redeemed each week. According to a recent poll conducted by ICOM 71% of consumers aged 18-34 are "much more" or "somewhat more" likely to use coupons in a recession. Traffic numbers for tjoos.com seem to back this up with an increase in unique visitors of 93% in the last two months.
Retailers are reacting to slowing sales by sending out record numbers of deals and coupons. New York Bar Store went so far as to issue an "Alcoholic Bailout package" in the form of a storewide 10% off coupon until the Dow Jones closes above 10,000 points.
Bart Jellema, co-founder of Tjoos.com says he saw a 31% increase in emails containing deals and coupons from retailers since August. "This is great news," he said, "as we are able to collect these offers and make them readily available to everyone. These deals and coupons can really help stretch the family budget further during these turbulent economic times." source>>>

you can hear Senator Obama say things that should profoundly shock any America

The Drudge Report this morning led off with a link to audio of Barack Obama on WBEZ, a Chicago public radio station. And this time, Barack Obama was not eight years old when the bomb went off.

Speaking on a call-in radio show in 2001, you can hear Senator Obama say things that should profoundly shock any American -- or at least those who have not taken the time to dig deeply enough into this man's beliefs and affiliations.

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

Barack Obama, in 2001:

You know, if you look at the victories and failures of the civil-rights movement, and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to vest formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples. So that I would now have the right to vote, I would now be able to sit at a lunch counter and order and as long as I could pay for it, I'd be okay, but the Supreme Court never entered into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society.

And uh, to that extent, as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical. It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution -- at least as it's been interpreted, and Warren Court interpreted it in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties: [It] says what the states can't do to you, says what the federal government can't do to you, but it doesn't say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.

And that hasn't shifted, and one of the, I think, the tragedies of the civil-rights movement was because the civil-rights movement became so court-focused, uh, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change. And in some ways we still suffer from that.

Pat Buchanan Looks at Obama's First 100 Days

Undeniably, a powerful tide is running for the Democratic Party, with one week left to Election Day.

Bush's approval rating is 27 percent, just above Richard Nixon's Watergate nadir and almost down to Carter-Truman lows. After each of those presidents reached their floors -- in 1952, 1974, 1980 -- the opposition party captured the White House.

Moreover, 80 percent to 90 percent of Americans think the nation is on the wrong course, and since mid-September, when McCain was still slightly ahead, the Dow has lost 4,000 points -- $5 trillion to $6 trillion in value.

Leading now by eight points in an average of national polls, Barack Obama has other advantages.

Not a single blue state is regarded as imperiled or even a toss-up, while Obama leads in six crucial red states: Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Missouri and Colorado. Should McCain lose one of the six, he would have to win Pennsylvania to compensate for the lost electoral votes. But the latest Pennsylvania polls show Barack with a double-digit lead.

Lately moving into the toss-up category are Nevada, North Dakota, Montana and Indiana. All voted twice for George W. Bush.

Not only is Obama ahead in the state and national polls, he has more money, is running far more ads, has a superior organization on the ground, attracts larger crowds, and has greater enthusiasm and more media in camp. And new voter registrations heavily favor the Democrats.

Though Congress is regarded by Americans with a disdain bordering on disgust -- five of six Americans think it has done a poor job -- Democratic majorities are certain to grow. Indeed, with Democrats favored by 10 points over Republicans, Nancy Pelosi's majority could grow by 25 seats and Harry Reid could find himself with a filibuster-proof majority of 60 senators.

Democrats already have 49, plus two independents: Socialist Bernie Sanders and Independent Joe Lieberman. Their challengers are now ahead in New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, New Mexico, Minnesota, Oregon and Colorado, with a chance of picking up Georgia, Alaska, Kentucky and Mississippi.

We may be looking at a reverse of 1980, when Reagan won a 10-point victory over Jimmy Carter, and Republicans took the Senate and, working with Boll Weevil Democrats, effective control of the House.

With his tax cuts, defense buildup and rollback policy against the "Evil Empire," Reagan gave us some of the best years of our lives, culminating in America's epochal victory in the Cold War.

What does the triumvirate of Obama-Pelosi-Reid offer?

How Should Christians Vote in 2008 and Beyond?

There are countries and circumstances in which the persecuted Church of Jesus Christ cannot even publicly identify itself, much less talk about getting involved in the decisions of our civic leaders. There are countries today in which Christians are arrested, detained and killed for no reason other than being Christian. There are countries that are being run by dictators, and in those countries wisdom may very well determine the level of involvement that a Christian will attempt to achieve in the decisions of their civic leaders.

But thank God that for the time being America still proudly parades itself as the world's greatest and freest democracy. Under that disguise, Christians in 2008 can still publicly assert their right to involvement in the system established for the making and/or breaking of laws in the United States of America. God expects us to make use of this privilege. The fact that our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world, and especially in countries where Islam is the established religion, cannot freely and openly practice their Christian faith without risking their lives is all the more reason for us to militantly exploit the privileges associated with the democracy that we enjoy in the United States of America.

I borrow from the title of a sermon preached in Jamaica by Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin of The Potter's House Christian Fellowship, Jacksonville, FL: "Our Normal is Another Man's Miracle." The two feet we take for granted represent a miracle for the man who has only one. Our ability to speak represents a miracle for the man who is dumb, and our ability to see represents a miracle for the man who is blind. The right to involvement in public life in America must never be taken for granted. On the contrary, it must be vigorously defended and preserved by aggressive use.

Christians Must Vote

God has allowed members of the Body of Jesus Christ in America to function as light and salt through access to the highest corridors of earthly power and influence. Every Christian in America must vote every time they get the opportunity. To not vote is irresponsibility of the highest order. Not even the Founding Fathers of America got the concept of voting right. In the days of George Washington, poor white men who did not own land were not allowed to vote. Black men were not allowed to vote. Wealthy and or bright white women were not allowed to vote either.

It took time, great debate, ill will and struggles to set the stage for what we now call universal, adult suffrage, or the right of every adult to vote. Every Christian from the age of eighteen must therefore make full use of the priceless privilege of voting. And just in case you know of any 'smart' people who still insist on not voting, be kind enough to give them a message for me - tell them that everyone votes. Those who do not vote decisively or deliberately do so by default. You either vote for the candidate of your choice by marking the X beside your candidate or pressing the appropriate button on the one hand, or you vote for the majority's candidate whether you endorse him or not. It is that simple. Failing to vote is to vote for the winner. And needless to say, you become subject to whoever is elected, whether you like it or not.

However, voting is clearly not an end in itself and must not be seen as such. It is a reasonably nonconfrontational way for Christians to select leaders who are either committed Christians themselves, or at least leaders who are demonstratively sympathetic to all that is necessary for the expansion of the kingdom of heaven on earth. This means that the Christian must vote intelligently and must submit their choice of candidate for God's approval. The Christian must vote for candidates who as close as possible represent the ideal of the Christian faith and philosophy. Christian voters must therefore research their candidates and at all times be in a position to evaluate their performance However, there is more. Not only must the Christian research and observe electoral candidates, but the Christian must attempt to influence willing candidates to represent what is right and pleasing in God's eyes. Christians must monitor the performance of elected representatives with a view to determining whether or not to reelect them. And since the Christian is to be wise like the serpent and harmless as the dove, he or she must understand the nature of majority rule in a democracy and make use of the political leverage of numbers in the Christian community as well as that of non-Christians who are supportive of Christian positions. Christians should therefore add their voice to any for a specific Christian value, unless of course that lobby is already identified with anti-Christian values. However, even in such a case, God will give wisdom to Christians so that they can support the good message of an otherwise evil messenger.

Think it through. Is it not hypocritical for the individual Christian as well as the Christian Church to denounce homosexuality and engage resources in preaching against its inherent sinfulness and social ills on the one hand, and yet refuse to lobby against a political candidate with a known homosexual agenda? Put another way, would it not be wiser and more consistent for the Christian to help prevent a candidate with a known homosexual agenda from being elected, rather than sit back and do nothing to dissuade the majority from electing him and then become very active in condemning his agenda after he is elected?

Admittedly, the decision becomes more difficult when electing the President of the United States as against electing a State Senator. A Presidential candidate who supports one or even two distinctly anti-Christian values may otherwise be evaluated as being the more suitable of two candidates for the top job in America. On the other hand, a Presidential candidate may line up with all major, socially visible values, but may otherwise be evaluated as being the less suitable of two candidates for the top job in America. How then should the Christian vote in an American democracy in which the President seldom has the final say? Fortunately for me, I do not have to provide that answer outside of the context of specifics. The Christian experience is characterized by a dynamic relationship between God's Holy Spirit and the individual Christian. God requires that the Christian be aware of the issues and He is willing and able to guide decisions.

In the area of the discharge of our civic duties, the Christian must subscribe to the maxim that 'an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure'. 'A stitch in time saves nine'. If the aim is to expand the kingdom of God on earth and cover the earth with His righteousness, then the Christian must strategically identify and give his support to all that will help to make that possible. All laws, programs, ideologies along with their proposers and backers that will work contrary to that goal must be identified the moment they are first put forward, and, as William Shakespeare said, "think him as a serpent's egg, which hatched, would as its kind grow mischievous, and kill him in the shell." On the other hand, the Christian should identify all laws, programs and projects - as well as their proposers and backers - that are consistent with and supportive of the expansion of the kingdom of God on earth and give those their full support and backing. It is ultimately easier to prevent a problem from developing than it is to cure it after it has developed. Not only must Christians vote, but Christians must also offer themselves to be voted for. Is it not hypocritical for the Christian to criticize and condemn those who run for public office as being unrighteous and unworthy while at the same time placing restrictions on the righteous and worthy from offering themselves as alternatives? And is it not hypocritical to claim to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world while maintaining the claim that involvement in politics will damage the Christian's testimony? Or is it true that if the truth be told, many Christians feel comfortable in the safety of the sanctuary but scared in the cauldron of the society?

If there is a large enough constituency of Christians or Christian sympathizers who effectively believe that a Christian candidate will do a better job for the community than would a non-Christian, then the Christian will be elected. If the Christian candidate fails to be elected, they would have made good use of an opportunity for their voice to be heard and their values to be shared. If they remain faithful to their public ministry, their voice will continue to be heard even though they were not elected. Moreover, at any time there is a problem with the performance of the incumbent, the Christian alternative will have first right of audience. If the Christian were elected, they would then have the opportunity of leveraging their testimony with the facilities of the state, which is nothing more than the collective resources of the same people who elected them. Under God's guidance, God will now have access to a 21st century Shedrach, Meshach, Abednego, Daniel or Joseph, all of whom were minority servants of God who became effective politicians and brought honor and glory to the name of God.

So, whether elected or unelected, Christians and the church must analytically and critically comment on the administration of the state so as to facilitate the establishment of the kingdom of God on earth.

And because to whom much is given, much is expected, the church of Jesus Christ in America must use the influence and freedom guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America to influence the government of the USA to support the defense of the inalienable rights of Christians in oppressed countries throughout the world. source>>>

L.A. Times Holding Damaging Obama Video

GLENN: Andrew McCarthy says let's try a thought experiment. Say John McCain attended a party where known racists and terror mongers were in attendance. Say testimonials were given including a growing one by McCain for the benefit of the guest of honor who happened to be a top apologist for terrorists. Say that McCain not only gave a speech but stood by, approval and solidarity while other racists and terror mongers gave speeches that wreaked of hatred for an American ally and rationalization of terror attacks. Now let's say that the Los Angeles Times obtained videotape of the party. The question is, is there any chance, any chance whatsoever that the Times would not release the tape and publish front page story after story about the gory details with the usual accompanying chorus of sanction money from the op-ed commentaries. If the times was the least bit reluctant about publishing -- remember we're pretending here -- that the rest of the mainstream media, you know the guys who drove Trent Lott out of his leadership position over a birthday party, would not be screaming for the release of the Tape. Of course they would. Andrew McCarthy brings us the details now of this real life scenario except it's not John McCain. It's Barack Obama. Hey, Andrew, how are you?

McCARTHY: Hey, how are you?

GLENN: I'm not surprised by this story. I've been watching Khalidi for a while and thinking to myself, when is this thing ever going to break, and you are bringing it. Tell us about the tape that the Los Angeles Times has.

Christian Science Monitor to exit daily print business

The Christian Science Monitor, which is known for its international and analytical news coverage, said today that it will become the first national newspaper to move its daily coverage completely online.

The century-old Boston-based newspaper said it will stop printing a daily newspaper and instead push content to a revamped website and a new weekly magazine.

yemma1028.jpgMonitor Editor John Yemma (right) said the moves, which will result in a workforce reduction of 10 to 15 percent, are aimed at reducing the company's $25.7 million budget and energizing its Web site.

"By freeing people from the print production ball and chain, we make a much more competitive Web site and we will help the journalists be much more competitive," he said. "Everybody seems to recognize that print is on its way out."

The news comes at a time when major dailies nationwide struggle with sharp drops in circulation and advertising dollars as more readers turn to the Web for their news and other information. Newspapers nationwide suffered an average circulation drop of nearly 5 percent, according to data released yesterday by the Audit Bureau of Circulations. The Monitor's circulation fell from a peak of 230,000 in the early 1970s to about 52,000 today.

In an effort to hold on to readers, many newspapers have been investing more time, money, and staff into their websites, while some smaller publications have shutdown their print operations completely to focus on their online operations.

The Monitor changes, which are expected to be launched in April, will include a jazzed-up Web site and an estimated 44-page weekend magazine dated for Sunday with original content that will go on newsstands for $2 and cost $89 for a yearly subscription.

The Monitor also will produce a daily e-mail that will include a synopsis of the days news and a column written by an editor.

The moves will result in cutbacks to the Monitor's 123-member business and editorial staff of between 10 to 15 percent, Yemma estimated. The company currently has eight foreign bureaus, eight domestic bureaus, including an eight-member Washington bureau.

Yemma said the decisions were made partly to make the Monitor economically independent from the Church of Christ, Scientist, which has been subsidizing the paper since its inception in 1908. The Monitor, which celebrates its 100th anniversary on Nov. 25, was launched by church founder Mary Baker Eddy.

The Church of Christ, Scientist declined to comment this afternoon.

Yemma said the church has been trying for years to reduce its $13.3 million subsidy to the news company. The company hopes to drop its budget by some $5 million next year. He said the company has a five-year plan to grow Web revenue.

"There is no magic formula for growing traffic on a Web site,'' he said. "The only formula is to do high quality work and update very frequently.''

Yemma, a former deputy managing editor for multimedia at The Boston Globe, was named editor of the Christian Science Monitor earlier this year. source>>>

Glenn Beck: McCain Makes His Case

GLENN: Senator McCain.

SENATOR McCAIN: Glenn, how are you?

GLENN: I'm very good. How are you?

SENATOR McCAIN: Glad to talk to you again, Glenn.

GLENN: Are you tired yet? Are you ready for this to be over?

SENATOR McCAIN: No. It's so exciting. I was in Boxville, Pennsylvania last night. We had 5,000 people show up yelling, screaming. I'm telling you, it fires you up. I'm telling you, it just fires you up.

GLENN: I tell you, I feel fired up myself. I feel fired up with the -- I think America is finally addressing who Barack Obama really, truly is. This man is frightening with the tapes that have come out recently of him espousing Marxist ideas and talking about how the Constitution really needs to be changed.

SENATOR McCAIN: It's remarkable some of the things that he said, and I've got to -- listen, if there's one man that I'm grateful to in America today, it's Joe the plumber was standing out in his driveway.

GLENN: Oh, boy.

SENATOR McCAIN: Obama came through the neighborhood. I can't tell you the number of signs, Rose the florist, Ralph the landscaper, now all of these people show up carrying their signs. But it really is. It's the classic left liberal redistribution of the wealth. I mean, that's all it is. I mean, everybody's the -- yeah.

GLENN: Do you really think it is only that? I mean, this is so far beyond Ted Kennedy. When you have in 2001 Barack Obama saying that the Supreme Court, "Didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution when it comes to redistribution of wealth," we're not talking about the typical liberal. This is way beyond.

SENATOR McCAIN: Oh, yeah. It's very, very left. Very, very left. But, of course, that's why he's the most liberal senator in the Senate. That's why you continue -- that's why he opposed and won the filibuster, Alito and Roberts. I mean, every indication of his record is from the far left and again, it's scary -- no, it's not scary. It's just disturbing. Let me add nothing is scary in this world because I believe in America and I believe the fundamentals of America is, you know, that Americans will put checks and balances on anybody, but it is very, very disturbing to see that he has these kinds of views which have been tried in other countries and failed.

GLENN: Okay, let me be frightened for you. I have to tell you, Senator McCain, in my business I have never seen anything like what this media has done to you, your campaign, Sarah Palin, and allowed Barack Obama and Joe Biden to get away with. There was a serious reporter. She was an assistant to Peter Jennings. Barbara West in Orlando, she asked a serious question. They have blackballed her. I am wildly concerned about the Fairness Doctrine coming back in and our freedom of speech being crushed. How is that not a frightening idea?

SENATOR McCAIN: Well, if you re -- try to reinstate this Fairness Doctrine, it will kill Glenn Beck, it will kill every program that has any controversy associated with it. Willing there's no doubt about that. But how about this card check thing where he supports that a union organizer can come to a person's home and say, hey, I want to sign you up to a union, right, okay? They are going to take away the secret ballot for people as far as where they want to join unions. This is a far left agenda that's being pursued and so as far as the media's concerned, I think what was terrible is them pulling their ads. If you don't ask the right questions, we'll pull our ads and we'll deprive you of revenues. That's a remarkable problem.

The Argument Against Idiots: So What if Barack's a Marxist?

The Argument Against Idiots: So What if Barack's a Marxist?

How to win the argument de jour with logic and facts

The issue:

So What if Barack's A Marxist?

What the liberal whiners say:

'That interview was from 2001, that's 8 years ago! He was only 39 or 40 years old at the time!'

'OK, so Barack Obama is a Marxist, so what? At least he's not George Bush! What was so great about the last 8 years of Capitalism?'

'Relax Mr Fatty Fat Fatso, Richey Rich man! You can AFFORD a little redistribution of your wealth!'

Your winning, logical, reasoned arguments

1. And everything he has said during the campaing, including TWO WEEKS ago to Joe The Plumber, shows that he feels the same way today! Obama has marinated in Marxism his whole life, from his leftist mother, to his Communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, to his Marxist professors and his Marxist theology, PASTOR. Obama is a believer in the ideology of Karl Marx!

2. Well, here we go, that's what I was afraid of! The problem is Marxism doesn't WORK! It's been tried over and over again, and has never been succesful. If you're hoping for more fairness under a Marxist/Communist Regime, let's take a look at the suffering and misery in the Soviet Union, China, Cambodia and Cuba over the years...just to name a few! Not to mention the number of their OWN people each of these regimes KILLED! Somewhere between 60 & 100 MILLION!

3. See, that's ANOTHER of the big lies of Marxism. My wealth will never get to YOU. I GIVE, of my own free will, a large percentage of my income right now...to charity. Probably in the neighborhood of 20%. Do you know what percentage of his income Joe BIDEN gave last year? Less than 2/10ths of ONE PERCENT! Now, what happens with Marxism, and the Communist governments that carry out those principles, is that the government TAKES the money, enriches ITSELF, and the very elite ruling class, and the rest of the people wind up, NOT in the middle class...but POOR! In bread land cheese lines. THAT'S what's wrong with Marxism!!!!!! Source>>>

Scalping tickets costs ex-lawmaker Rep. John Widowfield $ 2,000

Former state Rep. John Widowfield was fined $2,000 today after pleading guilty to two first-degree misdemeanors related to his scalping of Ohio State football tickets purchased with campaign money.

Widowfield did not speak during the brief hearing except to enter guilty pleas to failing to disclose the ticket sales as income on his financial disclosure forms, and to converting campaign funds to personal use. Municipal Court Judge Paul M. Herbert fined Widowfield the maximum $1,000 for each count, but did not impose any jail time.

The Cuyahoga Falls Republican spent more than $7,700 in campaign money on Ohio State football tickets from 2002 through 2006. Such purchases are legal, but those tickets cannot be resold for personal profit.

Widowfield documented that he reaped $2,837 in profit in 2003, $610 in 2004, $2,979 in 2005 and $7,249 in 2006. He has reimbursed his campaign $13,676 to cover the proceeds

In a self-referral to the Ohio Elections Commission earlier this month, Widowfield wrote, "My misconduct has, quite properly, resulted in my resignation from the General Assembly. I have written a personal check to my campaign committee in the amount of the proceeds at issue ... but that does not excuse or change the fact that I violated (state law)."

The Elections Commission last week referred the case to Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien, who filed the two charges. source>>>

But that way begins now. Today.

To avoid defeat on November 4 and avoid an out-of-control spending spree in the new Congress, the voters have to be given a real choice on Election Day.

- A choice between robust government spending and robust economic growth;
- A choice between higher spending and lower taxes;
- A choice between spreading the wealth around and increasing it through rapid economic recovery.

Because when Americans are asked to make these choices, our answers are clear and unequivocal.

We trust the private sector to grow the economy more than government. We favor keeping our money over giving it to Washington. We favor creating more wealth over redistributing the wealth we've worked for and saved.

We just have to be given the choice.

Three Times More Americans Believe In Tax Cuts Over More Government Spending

Newly released polling data show just how out of touch with Americans the REPO Team (Reid-Pelosi-Obama) pre-Christmas spending spree is.

By 60%-20%, Americans believe lower taxes, not higher government spending, will best ensure economic recovery, according to a new Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll.

By 86%-9%, Americans believe government should focus on jobs and economic growth over income redistribution, according to a New Models/Winston Group survey.

By 71%-25%, Americans believe that if you cut taxes on small business it will create new jobs, according to the New Models/Winston Group poll.

So What Are We Waiting For?

So what are we waiting for? To counter the Reid-Pelosi-Obama massive $300 billion government spending spree, Republicans should offer a $300 billion tax cut package.

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) has proposed a rapid economic recovery program that should be the centerpiece of the campaign going forward. Instead of marrying new deficit spending with liberal special interests like the Reid-Pelosi-Obama plan does, the Boehner plan marries sound economics with the small government, free market values of the American people.

Here are some of the reforms in the Boehner rapid economic recovery plan:

- Energy Independence: Creating jobs and reducing energy and food costs by enacting an "all of the above" energy plan. For more information, watch my new movie "We Have the Power" (watch the new trailer here and buy the movie here ) and read my new book Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less .
- Creating Jobs: Bringing American jobs back home by lowering the tax rate on profits that companies bring back to the United States.
- Restoring Home Values: Encouraging home purchases by easing capital gains rules for homes purchased in the next 18 months and held for at least five years.
- Spurring Economic Growth: Immediately suspend the capital gains tax on individuals and businesses for equities purchased during the next two years.
- Encouraging American Companies to Assist in Recovery: Lower the tax rate on business income so American companies have an incentive to invest in distressed assets.
- Protecting Retirement: Suspend rules that require individuals at age 70½ to begin withdrawing from their Individual Retirement Accounts. This would spare investors from being forced to sell their stocks at just the time when the market is hurting the most.

I will have more to say about what we can do now to avert this impending massive government spending spree at an event this Friday at the American Enterprise Institute entitled "Energy, the Economy, and the Special Session of Congress." For more details, go to www.aei.org.

In the meantime, there is no time to waste. Republicans and center-right independents and Democrats can give the voters a real choice in the election, or we can lose our choice in the congressional special session to come.

Either way, you can't say we weren't warned. source>>>

Wayne Huizenga wants to sell Dolphins before Barack Obama raises tax

Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga said Sunday no date has been set for selling up to 45 percent more of the team to Stephen Ross, but the presidential election is among the issues weighing on his decision.

That's because a Barack Obama administration is expected to mean higher capital-gains taxes.

"He wants to double the capital gains tax, or almost double it," Huizenga said. "I'd rather give it to charity than to him."

Ross purchased 50 percent of the team and Dolphin Stadium for $550 million earlier this year with the intention he would eventually become majority owner. NFL owners approved the eventual transfer this month, meaning it can take place anytime.

"If you do it this year or you do it next year, the difference is humongous because of the taxes," Huizenga said.

But the Obama campaign disputed Huizenga's figures on Monday, saying the candidate's plans are to raise the capital gains tax maximum from 15 percent to 20 percent -- a 33 percent increase, not double. And the top rate would be for families earning more than $250,000 or individuals earning more than $200,000.

"Mr. Huizenga is wrong about Senator Obama's tax plan, which calls for a maximum capital-gains rate of 20 percent -- a third lower than the rate that President Reagan set in 1986," said Bobby Gravitz, Obama campaign South Florida spokesman. "Furthermore, Senator Obama's tax cut for 95 percent of working families will mean a whole lot of Dolfans will be better able to afford those ever-rising ticket prices."

Regardless of when he sells, Huizenga vows to maintain a 5-percent stake in the team.

"It's been 19 years and after 19 years, it's kind of time," he said. "I don't want to be one of those owners who gets real old and hangs in there, we know some of those stories already, I don't want to be one of those guys." Source>>>

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE

It came to me in an email from a friend and I have no idea who wrote it.

One week to an election that could change the America that is and has been for over 230 years to something unrecognizable I found it only befitting to post it. This IS representative of the views and beliefs of main street America contrary to those who seem to think we need to go down the path of Socialism. Many who read this will have a complete understanding of what is being said. Some, no doubt will have a problem with it. To those with a problem...... GET OVER IT.

YES, I'M A BAD AMERICANI
Am the Liberal-Progressives Worst Nightmare. I am an American. I believe in God. I ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles and believe in American products. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some Liberal governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican!

I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way! I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart American. I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. Get over it. I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English. I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.

My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and Willie G Davidson that makes the Awesome Harley Davidson Motorcycles. I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it. I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut up already.

I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country! This is AMERICA. We like it the way it is! If you were born here and don't like it you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you.

I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution. Can I get an AMEN on that one? I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are. And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license.I think it's good..... And I'm proud that 'God' is written on my money.

I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years. I believe the president of the United States should put his hand over his heart and say the pledge of allegiance and should have no reservations about wearing American flag pins on his lapel.

I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause. Get a Job and do your part! I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents. I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think. I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA !

If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American. We want our country back!

Hillary Backers Decry Massive Obama Vote Fraud

With accusations of voter registration fraud swirling as early voting begins in many states, some Hillary Clinton supporters are saying: "I told you so."

Already in Iowa, the Obama campaign was breaking the rules, busing in supporters from neighboring states to vote illegally in the first contest in the primaries and physically intimidating Hillary supporters, they say.

Obama's surprisingly strong win in Iowa, which defied all the polls, propelled his upstart candidacy to front-runner status. But Lynette Long, a Hillary supporter from Bethesda, Md., who has a long and respected academic career, believes Obama's victory in Iowa and in 12 other caucus states was no miracle. "It was fraud," she told Newsmax.

Long has spent several months studying the caucus and primary results.

"After studying the procedures and results from all 14 caucus states, interviewing dozens of witnesses, and reviewing hundreds of personal stories, my conclusion is that the Obama campaign willfully and intentionally defrauded the American public by systematically undermining the caucus process," she said.

In Hawaii, for example, the caucus organizers ran out of ballots, so Obama operatives created more from Post-its and scraps of paper and dumped them into ice cream buckets. "The caucuses ended up with more ballots than participants, a sure sign of voter fraud," Long said.

In Nevada, Obama supporters upturned a wheelchair-bound woman who wanted to caucus for Hillary, flushed Clinton ballots down the toilets, and told union members they could vote only if their names were on the list of Obama supporters.

America's religious landscape has changed since the 2004 election - and Barack Obama is benefiting

n 2004, John Kerry ran a fairly straightforward secularist election campaign, in effect ceding the so-called "values voters" to George Bush. Bill Clinton, among others, had counseled Kerry to moderate this strategy. Clinton even suggested to Kerry that he loudly oppose gay marriage in toss-up states like socially conservative Ohio, but Kerry begged off, explaining that he didn't want to appear intolerant.

After Kerry's defeat, Democrats resolved not to commit the same mistake again. They quickly formed committees and groups dedicated to casting Democratic party policies in a religious light.

Barack Obama, in particular, embraced this strategy. He shrewdly sensed the possibilities of poaching some values voters from the Republican party by adopting a tone of religious uplift and giving a religious patina to his policies, particularly his anti-war one.

Recent polls suggest that the strategy is paying off. According to the Pew Forum, Obama has scooped up a majority of "white non-hispanic Catholic" registered voters, with 49% of them supporting or leaning toward him and 41% supporting or leaning toward John McCain.

This is a notable feat, given that a rating for Obama's voting record on the moral issues most crucial to the Catholic Church -- abortion, gay civil unions, etc -- would surely rank near zero.

Obama also enjoys increasing support from "white mainline Protestant" registered voters. He has shot ahead of McCain 48% to 43% among those voters.

But something else is at work here, besides just Obama's effective outreach to religious voters. He is also benefiting from the leftward drift of religion in America in general. This is a long-unfolding trend that another survey -- this one commissioned by Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly and the United Nations Foundation -- points up.

Their survey found, for example, "generational change" among younger evangelical Christians who have adopted "a more inclusive definition of what it means to be 'pro-life' and are more supportive of efforts to combat global warming".

Another striking finding from the survey -- one which lends itself to Obama's anti-war pitch to Christians -- is: "The religious landscape has shifted with evangelical Christians now expressing the greatest support for an interventionist role, while more moderate religious groups like mainline Protestants and Catholics take a more isolationist posture".

Obama is deftly exploiting America's new Christian left. In recent days, his Catholic surrogates, such as the law professor Doug Kmiec, have, like those younger evangelical Christians mentioned in the survey, stretched the definition of the phrase "pro-life" to include many issues beyond abortion, thereby confusing some anti-abortion Catholics into supporting Obama.

Dentists use Halloween candy to talk oral health

For dentists, Halloween can be scary: All that sugary-sweet candy brings the possibility of deep, dark cavities.

But some dentists are using Halloween to encourage good oral health.

Three Metro Dentalcare offices are having a Halloween candy buyback. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 1, they'll pay $1 per pound of candy for children 12 and under who bring their candy in. They'll pay each child for up to five pounds of candy.

The kids who participate will get healthy snacks and a free toothbrush. There will also be a costume contest.

And the kids can feel good about giving up their sweets - the collected candy will go to Ronald McDonald House charities for other kids who couldn't go trick-or-treating.

The participating offices:

Metro Dentalcare Children's Dentistry, 14336 Burnhaven Dr., Burnsville

Metro Dentalcare Chanhassen, 7806 Market Blvd., Chanhassen

Metro Dentalcare Maple Grove, 15785 95th Ave. N., Maple Grove source>>>

10 tips to stop kids’ Halloween sugar overload

Here are some ways that parents can get a handle on Halloween so children feel neither deprived, nor sick to their stomachs:

-Decide with children, before Halloween, on what is a reasonable amount of candy to eat that night and beyond. Will the candy be packaged in small bags to make the holiday last longer, rationed to a piece or two a day, donated or thrown away?

-Feed children dinner before trick or treating so they will not be ravenous and want to fill up on candy while going from house to house.

-Go out early, when candy-givers are less likely to encourage children to grab a handful so they don't end up stuck with it.

-Do not ban candy or ditch it when the kids aren't looking; it may just make them want it more.

-Parents should be good role models by not eating all the candy themselves.

-Let children enjoy some sweets on the holiday while focusing on good nutrition the rest of the year.

-Offer candy alternatives alone, or alongside candy, to give trick-or-treaters a choice.

-Take some emphasis off candy by focusing on the fun of the holiday, like checking out the costumes and decorated houses.

-Walk, don't drive, if possible, to get some physical activity in while candy collecting.

-Suggest kids wait to eat candy until they get home, where parents can inspect the wrappers to ensure they're tightly sealed. source>>>

New research will explore how children with Down syndrome learn

Researchers in the U.S. say there is little information or research on how children with Down syndrome learn, especially when it comes to reading and language.

They are set to change this by conducting a study on just how children with Down syndrome learn.

The University of Denver Morgridge College of Education's groundbreaking study will compare two early literacy intervention approaches to educating young children with Down syndrome, with the hope of improving teaching methods for children with the condition.

They say there have been significant breakthroughs in terms of how children with other developmental disabilities learn, and they believe that children with Down syndrome deserve the same attention.

Michelle Sie Whitten of the Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Educational Fund who are funding the research says the pilot study could have a profound effect on the academic achievement of children with Down syndrome.

An international team of experts has contributed to the study, including Sue Buckley, a British chartered psychologist with more than 30 years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities.

Karen Riley, assistant professor of Child, Family and School Psychology at DU, and the key investigator behind the pilot research says the study is exciting and unique because scientifically based research on early learning intervention has been translated into applied research in areas such as autism, but never before in Down syndrome research.

Professor Riley says they are attracting researchers for this study with expertise in other developmental disabilities who are applying their knowledge to Down syndrome.

The research team are looking for children in the Denver area, ages 2 1/2 to 5, to participate in the study, which will involve a two-day training session to be held at DU followed by an at-home intervention program in which parents will implement the program with their child for approximately 15 minutes per day for approximately 10 months, free of costs.

The researchers working on the study have been trained by Buckley, who is one of the world's leading researchers in the education and development of children with Down syndrome.

Note about Obama from a black Christian

Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him..

Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader. I can't vote black because I am black, I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter. We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007. NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008) To beat Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

Obama: “Marxist” Front Man for the Banksters

Is Barack Obama a Marxist, will he redistribute the wealth to the middle class? This is the question a WFTV anchor posed to Joe Biden.

It was of course an absurd question, considering Obama is the bankster candidate of choice. Banksters do not "redistribute" the wealth downward, they direct it upward into their own coffers. In fact, the word is not even accurate. It is not "redistribution," it is theft. The banksters are grand theft larcenists on a monumental scale.

Karl Marx's ideology was a historical ruse, a stratagem for the ruling elite. Marx was related to the Rothschild family. Nathan Mayer Rothschild married Hannah Barent-Cohen, daughter of Levi Barent-Cohen and wife Lydia Diamantschleifer and paternal granddaughter of Barent Cohen and wife, whose other son Salomon David Barent-Cohen married Sara Brandes, the great-grandparents of Karl Marx.

"Nathan Rothschild had given Marx two checks for several thousand pounds to finance the cause of Socialism. The checks were put on display in the British Museum, after Lord Lionel Walter Rothschild, a trustee, had willed his museum and library to them," argues David Rivera in Final Warning: A History of the New World Order.

But even if Rothschild had nothing to do with his relative Karl Marx, the political philosophy of Marxism was custom-built for the banksters.

As Antony C. Sutton notes in Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, "both the extreme right and the extreme left of the conventional political spectrum are absolutely collectivist" and "both recommend totalitarian politico-economic systems based on naked, unfettered political power and individual coercion," a system well-suited to the banksters, who are after all monopolists. "While monopoly control of industries was once the objective of J. P. Morgan and J. D. Rockefeller, by the late nineteenth century the inner sanctums of Wall Street understood that the most efficient way to gain an unchallenged monopoly was to 'go political' and make society go to work for the monopolists -- under the name of the public good and the public interest." It was, after all, John D. Rockefeller, Sr. who declared: "Competition is a sin."

As H.G. Wells wrote in his 1939 book, The New World Order, this bankster imposed "revolution" is nothing if not "outright world-socialism, scientifically planned and directed." According to one of Wells' contemporaries, Aldous Huxley, this contrived "utopia" will not come naturally or even without strife -- a form of "supra-national totalitarianism" will be "called into existence by ... social chaos," a chaos that draws closer every day as the international bankers sabotage the global economy in an effort to impose a new serfdom on the world as a whole.

As CFR historian Carroll Quigley explained in Tragedy and Hope, the banksters went political not only to make society at large work for them, but to destroy civilization as we know it and impose a feudalism on a global scale. "For the first time in its history, Western Civilization is in danger of being destroyed internally by a corrupt, criminal ruling cabal which is centered around the Rockefeller interests, which include elements from the Morgan, Brown, Rothschild, Du Pont, Harriman, Kuhn-Loeb, and other groupings as well. This junta took control of the political, financial, and cultural life of America in the first two decades of the twentieth century," writes Quigley.

It is a system "to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences," Quigley explains. It is not merely a financial system, but a political and cultural one as well. It is a scientific dictatorship of the sort Quigley did not imagine when he wrote his book in 1975.

Dennis L. Cuddy explains:

Economically, there was no middle class in feudal times, and that's exactly why there is an assault upon the middle class today. The tax burden today is largely borne by the middle class, which pays a higher percentage of its income in taxes than the serfs of feudal days paid from what they produced. Small businessmen (regulated by bureaucrats) today have become like feudal vassals on fiefs. You and I are like the peasants of feudal times. We're called "human capital" or "human resources," and are to be "managed" like feudal "human chattel."

I Barbara West of WFTV employs the false right-left paradigm against Joe Biden. In response, the Obama campaign killed all interviews with the Florida TV station, thus demonstrating Ms. West cut too close to the bone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQXcImQfubM

In the video above, long time insider Joe Biden once again states that "we will be tested," primarily because our "economy is in free fall right now," a downfall engineered by the banksters that control minion Biden and Barack Obama, the "savior" without accomplishment or credentials. Biden is simply providing us, the commoners detested by the elite, with a glimpse of things to come after the agent of "change" is installed in the White House. Indeed, there will be change, but not the kind sold by snake oil salesmen of Biden's ilk.

No wealth will be spread to the beleaguered middle class, as advertised. No tax cuts will be forthcoming. After Obama is anointed, the engineered economic crisis will intensify and Obama the sock puppet for the banksters and Wall Street will demand wholesale sacrifice on the part of the plebs. His CFR connected wife said as much earlier in the year. Obama, the foundation financed wunderkind shepherded by the advocate of globalist primacy, Zbigniew Brzezinski, indeed has nothing but contempt for the American people and that is why he was groomed to lead, or rather take orders. Still Don't Believe In The New World Order?

Still Don't Believe In The New World Order?

In order to enighten our readers, we borrowed this from The Konformist website -- www.konformist.com-- who borrowed it from ManBrad@aol.com.

Still Don't Believe In The New World Order? Here's some quotes if you're still confused.

Revelations From Great And Powerful Men
-------------------------------------------------------

"We are not going to achieve a new world order without paying for it in blood as well as in words and money." Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., in Foreign Affairs (July/August 1995)

THAT quotation and the following - and many others like them - clearly demonstrate that the words "new world order" are deadly serious and furthermore, have been in use for decades. They did not originate with President George Bush in 1990. The "old world order" is one based on independent nation-states. The "new world order" involves the elimination of the sovereignty and independence of nation-states and some form of world government. This means the end of the United States of America, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights as we now know them. Most of the new world order proposals involve the conversion of the United Nations and its agencies to a world government, complete with a world army, a world parliament, a world court, global taxation, and numerous other agencies to control every aspect of human life (education, nutrition, health care, population, immigration, communications, transportation, commerce, agriculture, finance, the environment, etc.). The various notions of the "new world order" differ as to details and scale, but agree on the basic principle and substance.

----------------------------------------------------

"Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order [referring to the 1991 LA Riot]. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond [i.e., an "extraterrestrial" invasion], whether real or *promulgated* [emphasis mine], that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this *scenario*, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government." Dr. Henry Kissinger, Bilderberger Conference, Evians, France, 1991

"The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government combining supercapitalism and Communism under the same tent, all under their control.... Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent." Congressman Larry P. McDonald, 1976, killed in the Korean Airlines 747 that was shot down by the Soviets

"We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries." David Rockefeller, founder of the Trilateral Commission, in an address to a meeting of The Trilateral Commission, in June, 1991.

"The idea was that those who direct the overall conspiracy could use the differences in those two so-called ideologies [marxism/fascism/socialism v. democracy/capitalism] to enable them [the Illuminati] to divide larger and larger portions of the human race into opposing camps so that they could be armed and then brainwashed into fighting and destroying each other." Myron Fagan

"No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation." David Spangler, Director of Planetary Initiative, United Nations

"In March, 1915, the J.P. Morgan interests, the steel, shipbuilding, and powder interest, and their subsidiary organizations, got together 12 men high up in the newspaper world and employed them to select the most influential newspapers in the United States and sufficient number of them to control generally the policy of the daily press....They found it was only necessary to purchase the control of 25 of the greatest papers.

"An agreement was reached; the policy of the papers was bought, to be paid for by the month; an editor was furnished for each paper to properly supervise and edit information regarding the questions of preparedness, militarism, financial policies, and other things of national and international nature considered vital to the interests of the purchasers." U.S. Congressman Oscar Callaway, 1917

"The world can therefore seize the opportunity [Persian Gulf crisis] to fulfill the long-held promise of a New World Order where diverse nations are drawn together in common cause to achieve the universal aspirations of mankind." George Herbert Walker Bush

"In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn't such a great idea after all." Strobe Talbot, President Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State, as quoted in Time, July 20th, l992.

"We shall have world government whether or not you like it, by conquest or consent." Statement by Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member James Warburg to The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on February 17th, l950

"The world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes." Benjamin Disraeli, first Prime Minister of England, in a novel he published in 1844 called Coningsby, the New Generation

"The governments of the present day have to deal not merely with other governments, with emperors, kings and ministers, but also with the secret societies which have everywhere their unscrupulous agents, and can at the last moment upset all the governments' plans. " British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, 1876

Redistribution of Wealth

Redistribution of Wealth

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that
read: 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a 'Obama '08' tie, again
I laughed. Just imagine the coincidence.

Suddenly, it hit me. An experiment is in order. I asked the
server, did he really believe that Obama's platform was a good one? Yes, he did.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was
exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept.

He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to
redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need - the homeless guy
outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5, and told him to thank
the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless
guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment, I
realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but
the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn, even
though the actual recipient needed the money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow
in concept than in practical application - at least if it is your wealth
that is being redistributed.

Or, is it that....REDISTRIBUTION OF SOMEONE ELSE'S WEALTH
IS A GREAT IDEA.....or just a fool's political game?

Be wary. Be afraid. Once socialism starts, there is no end.
The productive citizens wind up supporting the non-productive ones
forever, and what you earn becomes no longer yours. Wait a minute,
isn't that already happening? Oh yeah, it is. Well, let's try and keep
it from getting worse.

P.S. I wonder how the waiter feels about redistribution of the
wealth, now?

They say the truth hurts. In Barack Obama's case, it is simply devastating.

They say the truth hurts. In Barack Obama's case, it is simply devastating.

Not surprisingly the Big Media have kept the American public blind to the truth about Obama, including...

* The fact that a corrupt Chicago Machine politician "made a U.S. senator" out of Barack Obama

* How Barack Obama won his first election by having his lawyers knock all his opponents off the ballot on technicalities

* Obama's support for a grotesque "infanticide" law that was too extreme even for Nancy Pelosi

* The Tony Rezko connection: "I've never done any favors for him," says Obama about convicted developer Tony Rezko. Oh, but he has...

We at HUMAN EVENTS are set to embark on a massive truth-telling mission to unmask the real Barack Obama. And just like in 2004 when concerned Americans exploded John Kerry's presidential aspirations by helping the Swift Boat Veterans get out the truth about him. . .

We're going to stop the Obama campaign juggernaut dead in its tracks!

Just wait until Americans read the special editorial supplement produced (together with our sister company, RedState.com) by our HUMAN EVENTS team called "The Truth about Obama: What Every Citizen Needs to Know".

You see, while the Obama campaign is dying to keep the skeletons in Obama's closet hidden for just three more months, we plan to tell the truth to the American public before November.

Sadly, money talks when it comes to reporting the truth today. And we at HUMAN EVENTS have barely enough to stay afloat in today's difficult economy -- a situation I'm sure you can appreciate.

In addition, HUMAN EVENTS just bore the cost of including this special supplement into the 5,000 issues of HUMAN EVENTS we distributed at the Republican National Convention.

With the money we do have left, we vow to expose the dangerous liberalism of Barack Obama in the pages of HUMAN EVENTS every week and on our website HumanEvents.com every day.

But we need your help, my friend, to cover the costs of printing and delivering boxes of our special editorial supplement, "The Truth about Obama: What Every Citizen Needs to Know" to activist conservative students on college campuses and to selected media outlets across the country.

Why college campuses and media outlets? Simple...

Young voters -- including our own children and grandchildren -- are today being indoctrinated by biased liberal "educators" who distort the truth about terrorism, the reason for the energy crisis, spending, education and Barack Obama.

Our friends at key conservative organizations are providing us with the names and addresses of the conservative student leaders who are fighting on the front lines this election year.

By sending "The Truth about Obama" to conservative student leaders at every college campus in America, we're arming young conservatives with the facts about Barack Obama that they need to know.

And just as it's our responsibility to ensure that America's young voters know the straight facts about Obama, so too with the American public.

That's why we're sending "The Truth about Obama" to major media outlets across the country. Because we simply cannot let the Big Media from New York, Washington, Los Angeles and other large cities continue to have their way, covering up the truth about Obama, the man who repeatedly promises "change" but will give us the same old liberal policies that have failed for 40+ years.

HUMAN EVENTS has been the stalwart defender of conservative principles and traditional values since 1944 -- longer than any other newsweekly.

Help us spread the conservative message even further by making it possible for us to deliver the report to every college campus and every media outlet in America as soon as possible.

Your contribution to this campaign will allow us to deliver boxes of "The Truth about Obama" to conservative student leaders on college campuses and to the opinion leaders at major media outlets. Just imagine the impact if we could afford to deliver one box to every campus and media outlet in America!

To express our gratitude for your donation of just $50 or more, we'll send you a complimentary copy of David Fredosso's brand-new New York Times bestseller, The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate. Freddoso's comprehensive book serves to remove, once and for all, the halo from a man with fewer qualifications, and a more radical agenda, than the mainstream media lets on.

Of course, we'll send you a copy of our special report, "The Truth about Obama: What Every Citizen Needs to Know", to thank you for your contribution big or small. Any amount will be appreciated and will help "The Truth about Obama" reach more fact-hungry Americans.

These are critical times for our country. We must not allow the Big Media and liberal college campuses to succeed in placing one of the most liberal and inexperienced candidates ever in the White House.

Donate now so we can broadcast "The Truth About Obama" to the American public

Best Regards,

Tom Winter
President and Editor in Chief, HUMAN EVENTS
