Court hears Christian school's bid to join league

A Christian school is asking a federal appeals court to revive the lawsuit it filed in a bid to sue its way into the athletic league for Texas public schools.

A federal judge dismissed the suit that Cornerstone Christian Schools in San Antonio filed against the state's University Interscholastic League two years ago.

On Monday, a lawyer for Cornerstone asked a three-judge panel from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn that ruling by U.S. District Judge Fred Biery. The court didn't immediately rule.

Cornerstone accuses the league of discriminating against parents who choose to send their children to a religious school. But the league says it excluded Cornerstone because it was eligible to join another league. source>>>>
