"Sesame Street Live: When Elmo Grows Up" runs Oct. 23-26 in New Orleans and Nov. 6-9 in Lafayette.
"Sesame Street Live," now celebrating its 29th season, has entertained millions of children and their families around the world, according to a news release from the show's production company.
"When Elmo Grows Up" stars Sesame Street's most-loved furry red creature along with newcomer Abby Cadabby, Zoe, Rosita and the rest of the crew as they think about the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
The question inspires a musical show-and-tell as Bert dreams of becoming a forest ranger, Telly wishes to be a cowboy and their new friend Abby Cadabby wants to be a Fairy Godmother just like her mom. Elmo considers becoming a "weather monster" but struggles to forecast his future with so many possibilities.
"Children learn that if they believe in themselves and are willing to try, the possibilities are endless," the news release states.
"When Elmo Grows Up" features lessons on perseverance, teamwork and the power of imagination, all wrapped in a Broadway-quality musical production. The show involves high-tech stagecraft, a clever script and nearly two dozen songs, such as "Itsy Bitsy Spider," "Home on the Range" and "I Love Trash," according to the news release. source>>>
