Indian Nun will return when it is safe

The police has failed to trace the nun who had been raped at K Nuagaon on 25 August when the riots in Kandhamal district were at its peak.
Even as efforts of the government to get in touch with the nun and ask her to cooperate with ongoing police investigations failed to made any headway, church leaders here said the nun was scared of coming to Orissa. She is probably in a hospital near New Delhi, said Christian leaders when asked about her whereabouts.
Sister Nirmala of Missionaries of Charity, Kolkata, had personally taken up the matter with chief minister Mr Naveen Patnaik. The state government has assured all protection and assistance to the victim.
The crime branch police investigating the case has arrested five people in connection with the rape. We are waiting for the nun to proceed further in the case, in her interview to certain television channels she has said that she can identify the culprits, a police officer said.
The sooner she appears or is available to us, the better, he added. Meanwhile, leaders of the Christian community here told reporters that the nun will cooperate with investigations only when she feels it is safe for her. source>>>
